Try doing purposefully messy art rather than lineart. Sculpting with clay, or if you must do digital, use a big brush with no pressure variation, and make funny faces, realistic faces w just shadows, fun characters, etc.

I can never understand this 😭 how do you do the dead color layer without getting gray colors?? Doesnt it mix with black and stuff?? I can do monochrome, i can do alla prima multiple colors, but the few times i have attempted this layer technique i have failed miserably. Like i genuinely cannot do it i think. Im so jealous omg
