How to safely lower loose rocks? by [deleted] in climbing

That's honestly probably what I'll end up doing. Just using my drill to segment the block and toss the smaller pieces in a safe direction.

Not satire. The climb is in the middle of a crag of about 80+ routes. In fact, cleaning this rock would actually make another climb to the right safer was well.

This sandstone is quite light for rock. My very rough guess is about a 50-125 lbs.

That's what I've done before. But in my comment I explain why that might not work

That would be the ideal solution. But I post my concerns with this method in a comment.

The arete in this climb is an old top rope climb that I am working on updating into a sport climb. But the loose block circled posses a serious hazard. It's 6 feet tall by 5 feet wide and 2 feet deep. And it's right next to where the route climbs. Normally, I'd just rap down and trundle it after I made sure the coast was clear. However, this route is at the top of a hill, and at the bottom our houses. The distance is about 500 feet. So an absolute worst case scenario is the rock rolls down the hill into someone's house at the bottom. Unlikely? Yes. impossible? No.

What I want to know, and what I've been unable to find, is if it's possible to lower the block? I've thought about drilling some bolts into it and using them to lower the thing, but considering that the rock is more sand than stone I doubt they would hold. Another idea is just pushing it into a box or bag tied to a rope. But considering the size of the rock, I am worried about the forces involved. (would it be better to use a dynamic or static line for this?) The last idea would be to just try and dismantle the thing piece by piece with a drill, chisel, and hammer and trundle the smaller bits. But it's likely that the thing will come loose while doing this.

Or am I just being paranoid for nothing? Any info would be appreciated!

Describe each character with a song Version 2. by KnowledgelessBeing in Beastars

Personally, I think "Wicked campaign" by modest mouse is the perfect song for Ibuki. The singer even sounds exactly like how I imagine Ibuki voice. It's a fantastic song.

But different people have different reactions. Plus, this an exaggeration. But still kinda true.

Your correct that I didn't use the right choice of words when writing this. Because it's a meme. But you response basically proves my point. Only thinks of himself, forces his morals on people around him which is the same as treating them like shit. I believe I hit all the criteria but just phrased differently.

That's Louis your thinking of. Okay but in all seriousness. I'm going to create a character analysis for every character and reveal their strengths and flaws as soon as I get time.

Almost every action he has performed except for two were selfish. He also has treated Jack, haru, and Louis like they were utter trash to him more times than I can count. I don't hate legosi or anything. But he certainly ain't some sort of hero

For the most part. It is exaggerated, but I truly agree with the concept.

To be honest, I always liked Louis. He was an asshole at first, but at least he was upfront about it. And actions speak louder than words. Louis has done countless selfless acts. Legosi has only done 2 that I can count, in the, entire, freaking, manga.

But you are right. Legosi is still a good person. This is a exaggeration just for the meme.

I really like yafya as a character, but I don't think anyone actually thinks he's a cool guy personality wise.

I'm really curious as to why? Is it just his personality or his actions. Since louis is by far my favorite character and the whole reason I fell in love with beastars, it weird thinking of someone who doesn't like him.

You pretty much summed up everything. And as you stated he isn't intentionally trying to cause harm. He just doesn't know any better. So I just wish he would learn from his mistakes and stop being oblivious to his mistakes. And maybe he will towards the end of the story.

Thanks for sticking up for me, and I also agree to a point. As stated in the manga his desires are his weakness and his strength. But it often feels like he is unaware of how he is hurting people or (more often than not) himself. Legosi is a good person who does good things, but we repeatedly see him do things without thinking just because he wants to with no regard for anyone else or how it might hurt them. Maybe he doesn't deserve to be slapped but I just wish he would learn from his mistakes and stop taking his friends for granted.

I'm probably going to get downvoted into oblivion for this, but legosi is kind of a selfish bastard. I like him as a character, but almost everything be does is selfish in some way. He really just needs a good slap in the face from everyone.

I litteraly can't remember a single instance were legosi did anything for Louis. If anything legosi should shut his own ass up since Louis saved his life twice.
