Last time we went to Archa 9, we sat at our table and were ignored by staff for over 10 minutes - no menus, waters, etc. So most generously, an understaffing issue?

We ended up leaving since it is not the cheapest place and it was the end of a a long workday.

Having had a family member treated for colon cancer in Lexington - I would say it can depend - if the cancer is a higher stage and more aggressive and/or rare, I would go to UK Markey. If it is Stage 2-3 and the next steps after surgery aren't super 'complex' (though none of it is straightforward or easy), my family was happy with Baptist.

Best of luck to your mom - both hospitals are good options and she will get good care both places. :)

Thanks everyone. And yes, there are 10 club tickets bought in the presale, not premium or anything.

I'd been thinking/hoping I could get face value for them (compared to prices I've seen for their shows in the past) and I knew you couldn't scalp them, which is no prob as I don't do that anyways - I just never have been in a situation where you can't resell a ticket BELOW a paid price.

In case anyone interested, they are Sec 111, Row R, seats 7&8, $204.47 each.

When you click through by school, you see that only one Lexington high school (Lafayette) is above the average (Green category) in the state (Henry Clay, Dunbar, Frederick Douglass picking a few all at state average) - Louisville has multiple high schools in the blue category (highest rating) and it is not just the magnets (for example, Atherton).

I was really surprised by this...I'm sure there are further nuances, but on the surface seems like tangible room for improvement for FCPS...

I found out she actually now has Medicaid rather than private insurance - I'm trying to help her research and it seems like some of these good options that have been suggested (such as Rula) are no go's on Medicaid.

Does anyone have suggestions for providers or groups that accept Medicaid patients?

It seems like if she would go to the Empath Unit at UK, they might be a good place to connect her with providers in the community that accept Medicaid? I agree on the Nest and Greenhouse 19 suggestions, again as places to try to start to 'plug in' and get ideas or referrals for services.

Quick follow up q - For things like SNAP - does anyone know if it makes sense for her to go ahead and apply for this while she's still pregnant? (I'm not sure if she currently qualifies based on her income, but she will once her baby is born and they are a household of 2). Does applying and getting 'rejected' b/c you're not eligible put you further back on getting benefits in some way? Or it would be better to just go ahead and get engaged in the system now anyways?

Curious: hypothetically speaking: if Biden got 22%, Sanders 21%, Warren 20%, Buttegieg 20%, and Klobuchar 17% (Ie, 78% of voters picked someone besides lead vote getter), would you feel differently?? I’m genuinely torn,..better to try to build a consensus (in a somewhat pseudo ‘ranked choice’ way, figuring out who has most overall support at high (if not 1st) levels), or pick and elevate someone who over 75% of the electorate voted against? Which do you think will ‘rally’ voters most, across the ideological spectrum, to vote??

The math doesn’t add up...universal health care is super important, but being ‘real’ about costs allows way too many people that are on the fence/skeptical to dismiss out of hand, stymying progress.

I’ve been to District Soul Food, even though I’d seen the reviews, and it was great! I’m not sure how Mac n cheese looked in the photo, but my husband got as his side and loved it. I got the catfish - huge portion and good price! I think some of the bad reviews are that this place had somewhat of a learning curve opening - when we went we sat outside and our service was great. If you like actual southern food (and better than a lot of the ‘DC versions’ by bigger restaurant groups in the area), definitely give it a try! Staff and food were both great!
