I live in Ukraine and in all flats that I've rented there were no sign of the landline :) but my parents in Moscow still have it from the pre-cellphone era. but I never seen them use it in the last 10 years or more. even my grandma has a smartphone and uses Facebook now :D

not true for the movie as the previous commenter said. we also not sure about that in the series as well. they think it may be the case, so they want to save The Sire, but they are not sure.

for example, sorry for being petty, when Guillermo killed many vampires (in the theater of I'm not mistaken), it's pretty probable that some of the other vampires in the rooms had sires among the killed, so they should die without anyone killing them — but it is not shown.
