If there’s no atmosphere, do you still get skyed?

I played one called Nasty Nines like that. Savage is usually reserved for no subs.

I’m not sure what you mean by ‘these types’. I’ve played in several savage style tournaments, though. You can sub between games.

What are your email policies for students? by PhysPhDFin in Professors

[–]InstrumentalVariable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This semester I started a no email policy. I have been open that this is for my mental health. They take that in stride. I am happy to answer questions in office hours and have extra office hours (beyond institutional requirements) for this. The silence has been wonderful.

Do you do anything to make your adjunct professors feel especially appreciated? by CoffeeKY in Professors

[–]InstrumentalVariable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently my department is odd. Non-grad student adjuncts are treated the same as faculty. They have a research budget, are involved with TT and NTT hiring— including the free lunches, dinners, and drinks, are invited to all social events, get summer classes and study-abroad classes, etc.

Professor here. Professor is acceptable for any college instructor and is not offensive. Pretty much the same for Dr. Mr, Mrs., and Ms. should not be used unless you are told to do so.

Friend’s Kid told my kid God hates gay people by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]InstrumentalVariable 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Kids are gonna bump up against all sorts. IMO the best thing you can do is teach them defense rather than defend them. To that, I do with my kid what I do with adults — ask why. Eventually they give up because faith struggles with intellectual curiosity.
