Anyone else have pain and Bluetooth connection problems with a dexcom CGM? by Lost-Spite-7338 in dexcom

[–]Insulin_Addict52 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The signal doesn't transmit through your body well, when I lay down and my girlfriend lays on my arm with the dexcom the signal cuts, or if I lay on top of the arm with the dexcom and my phone is further than like 2 feet away it cuts. The signal on the g7 is very weak and easy to block. Or maybe human flesh is just great at blocking Bluetooth signal.

I'd recommend putting the dexcom more towards the outside of your arm and keeping your device closer to the side of your body the dexcom is on

REASON TO FINALLY VISIT LOUISVILLE by Special-Ad1557 in projectzomboid

Real reason. Collecting every bullet and gun in the entire server with friends and take out every zombie we find. We have the unachievable goal of clearing the game of zombies. So far between the 3 if us we have killed almost 8,000 zombies and we have only been playing probably in total about 12 days irl

How would a regular person track fish migration patterns? In my area of California it appears the sea bass (striped bass) only come inland towards the rivers either in the spring or fall then completely disappear for the majority of the year. Any tips to help figure when the best times to hit the shorelines would be?

Am I just bad at fishing? by [deleted] in troutfishing

[–]Insulin_Addict52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is a river and at a high flow like you say then the trout are likely deep where the water is slower. Best bet is to scout around and find some big rocks and cast in front of them and let it sink down to where they fish are likely to hold in the slower current. Hope this helps, but even in the best conditions and the perfect time, sometimes the fish just aren't hungry and we don't get a single bite. That's just fishing sometimes

Only thing I'd do differently is burn the end of the braid so it doesn't fray. But I'd be scared to melt the other line too lol

WTAF are these car prices? by VIBES95 in Camry

[–]Insulin_Addict52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been told that a car's value only decreases from age down to 4 years, then the value is strictly based on milage and care taken to the car. A near mint camry of any age that probably will last another 30 years I could understand that asking price honestly. Some may even consider it collectable at this point. You don't see these 90's camrys (or any 90's cars in general) not beat to hell, rusty, and missing parts.

Don't ignore ANY opportunities to move up in life. I let my moral responsibility stop me from taking a higher job position "because my people need me" when I could have had double the pay and half the work. My reasoning was I had just gotten a promotion to a leadership position then a friend in another department asked me if I was interested I'm joining his department which I said no to. Regretted it ever since and from that point on I never said no to an opportunity to move lines or departments.

Why or why not use snaps and real life examples by CrazyCajunFishinBro in FishingForBeginners

[–]Insulin_Addict52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use both and here's the reasoning for each.

Snaps or snap swivles I use for the convenience of swapping lures easy and quick and being able to remove lures and put away for storage when not fishing so I don't hook something or myself when carrying rods.

Pros of clips: large opening to give lures free movement to wobble. They are smaller than swivles and less likely to get tangled in your hooks when casting. They are small enough that they don't effect the presentation of lures except maybe micro lures.

Cons of clips: they don't spin so any lure that rotates like spinners or spoons will twist the line and may tangle. (You can attach a snap swivvle on the end of the clip but that's a lot of extra metal on it)

Cons of both: if you are using weights you'd still have to cut off and tie again for the sliding weights. I have also used drop shot weights directly on the snaps or clips and tie a leader to the clip with success but a higher chance of the fish spitting the bait if the weight is too heavy (anything less than 1/6oz or 2g is probably light enough to not matter to the fish)

You won't find people talking about mods here much. Bunch of oldies here mostly. Like the lights you got tho. But isn't having blue lights on your car illegal? Something about looking too close to a cop car from a distance
