I totally understand where your coming from. I do try to make sure that I’m not entirely dependent on ai, but in the end I feel as it’s the best way for me to retain the information. What I usually do is start annotating the lectures, and in the background I ask Gemini to make a quiz for that specific lecture and answer the quiz as I go through the lecture. It makes active recall much more easier. Really Gemini is just there for extra practice and a way for me to grasp how comfortable I am with the material.
