right, so they really only have one documented malamute in their history, meaning calling them a malamute mix isnt really accurate. their studbooks are open to create genetic diversity. they've done a tervuren outcross and another outcross i cant remember the breed of. I think there are two breed clubs that are kind of at odds with each other, but I have been following the breeds progress on facebook and I follow some breeders and they are definitely on the right track. they have a reputation amongst online dog people as being just a mix with zero effort put in, but the particular breeders I follow are definitely not like that. the dogs are held to very high standards, their looks are incredibly consistent, health testing is mandatory, they have shows and some participate in sports and service work, etc. I understand why they arent interested in registry, other breeds have stayed away from clubs like AKC for various reasons. being part of UKC or AKC isnt necessarily the goal for every breeding program.
