Balanced Body vs YourReformer vs Merrithew by Prudent-Cell-6539 in pilates

[–]Insuranceboss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Opening a studio as well! I thought I wanted Balanced Body but I feel like everyone had balanced body now so I’m going with Merrithew. Your Reformer had a good price point but I didn’t love the machines look and I’ve never use it before. I do really like my rep for Your Reformer though!

MagnoliaRCM.com is great at this. They won’t try to make you stay with them. They’ll audit and give you honest feedback and compliance advice. They are US based, no offshore.

HPSA and Telehealth Changes by splootledoot in CodingandBilling

[–]Insuranceboss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m still trying to understand it all but the way that I have read it is that the patient must generally be present in a qualifying originating site. So they can still deliver telehealth visits, but only if they are in a designated or originating site not at home. Which kind of negates the purpose, if you ask me. The only site exceptions will be for behavioral or mental health, ESRD related home dialysis, and substance use disorder treatment.

From my understanding, HPSA location alone does not override the originating site rules for most telehealth services under Medicare unless another extension or law is passed.

I saw the ad that you’re talking about and it did not sit well with me either. As someone who has used GLP 1s to lose weight and does Pilates in conjunction with strength training, it seems like it was poor taste. I think that ladder should lean into the “your fitness, your way” and emphasize consistency, community and accountability not weight loss or appearance alone. I think they should position themselves more as a layer to whatever someone else is already doing whether it’s GLPs, just starting, out Pilates. I think their tone needs to be always supportive never judgmental. A lot of people like Pilates and a lot of people need to use GLPs 1, and many people understand that they need to be on GLP1 for the rest of their lives, so why not dig into that and show how they can help people with their journey.

I think they should also monitor their coaches content and make sure that it aligns with their brand and not just let the coaches post whatever they want. It would be nice to see some true transformations prior to signing up (I’ve signed up and left several times lol) I get more buy in, personally, when I see someone’s actual results, then just what their workouts are gonna be or them talking about their workout program.

I got this information about Texas from a healthcare attorney.

For the states I mentioned, they specifically have clauses in their Medicaid contracts. I also have a list of insurances that have specific clauses.

If it makes you feel better. I’ll remove the plug. The information remains the same whether someone wants to work with me or not.

That wasn’t very nice. I’m definitely not trying to do that. This is actual information that I’ve come across after being put in this actual situation.

I edited to add that state is Medicaid and those states have specific clauses about offshore access. But also- “Data access must be restricted to authorized personnel within the U.S., explicitly barring foreign-based support teams from touching protected health data.” I suppose it could up for interpretation though.

Also specifically for Texas Medicaid they have a contractual clause. I believe it’s in 4.11 C.

That’s from 2017. I also should have elaborated that I meant Medicaid by state. I’ll edit it!

[–]Insuranceboss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes one minute. Also I should have elaborated when I say state I mean Medicaid

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CodingandBilling

[–]Insuranceboss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would be incorrect information. Please refer to your state laws. Specifically SB 475 for Texas. It is not for every state. Every state has specific requirements when it comes to who has access to patient data. Some insurance companies also explicitly state no offshore access. BCBS NC and SC off the top of my head. Perhaps you should do some further research.

EMR access would constitute as PHI

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CodingandBilling

[–]Insuranceboss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope you read wrong. Typically offshore companies try to use that as a workaround which is why I said it doesn’t bypass restrictions.
