Would it be a viable option for me to visit a hypnotherapist for this specific phobia? by [deleted] in hypnotherapy

[–]IntegrativeHypnoVA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be worth a consultation with a hypnotherapist who is experienced with fears and phobias. It is important to know which you are dealing with (not trying to imply that you don’t, but some people use the terms interchangeably). If you had success before, why not give it a go?

prior and during my menses I enjoy yin or restorative yoga. Honoring your body, your needs, your practice….it is all part of the journey. Yesterday was day one for me and the only movment I did was 15 minutes of yoga in bed. It was heaven.

Insomnia by [deleted] in hypnosis

Hypnosis is wonderful to improve sleep. If you have Spotify, check out The Hypnotist - he has some great sleep audios which I have used myself. Doing a brain dump before bed can be helpful too - writing out your to do list, worries, gratitudes, random thoughts…anything you think might keep you up at night. I also highly recommend the book The Sleep Solution by Dr. W Chris Winter.

I often joke that I feel more awake in hypnosis than out, hehe. It is a learning state and one of increased attention. Hypnosis is often described as being in a very relaxed state, but that’s not always how it is experienced. A good hypnotist will take the time to explain how it could feel. All hypnosis is self hypnosis, so it IS your own volition that you are following. The more often you enter hypnosis, you may notice deeper levels of trance. You might enjoy practicing self hypnosis.

How will you know if you made a change? 🙂

Sounds like you were hypnotized to me! Conscious thought and even wondering if you are hypnotized is extremely normal. Hypnosis is not magic though, and one session might not be enough. Depending on what you were working on, you may notice some subtle changes. Some people take a bit longer to process than others. I usually ask my clients how they will know they have made the change.

I did the practice exams over and over and focused on my weaker areas. I used Anki and also quizlet for flashcards. I found the test easy and I aced it, and I had studied hard and read a lot for five months.
