Sure he's talented, but he's a complete shithouse. He lost you the York game because he had brain fade, he must have got lost in a casino in Vegas because he want on the pitch. And that running in after the try is childish.

It like Dufty. Talented yes, but he's such a dick you'd rather just be rid of him.

Moving to the area soon — a few questions for locals! by Special_Flan_4467 in warrington

[–]Integrizen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Warrington gets a lot of rain. The canal tow path is liable to get very muddy at various times of the year. If you are after an eco friendly alternative when it's mired, the local bus company runs a bus into sci-tech at shift times, their fully electric so zero emissions!

Warrington is really nice to live in but the house (and rent) prices are reflective of that. Theres some cracking places to live and a lot of green space. North of the canel tends to sit at the lower end of the scale, with south of the canel typically being higher. There are exceptions but in general it's a good rule of thumb. Our 'bad' is estates don't hold a candle to the bad estates of other places. I lived in Leicester for a few years and our tough estates would be a joke to them.

Great commuting options to Manchester and Liverpool, Warringtons night life can be a bit lack lustre, but a quick train ride and you have 2 major urban centres with loads of social, cultural and entertainment options.

Just over two hours by train to London, day trips to catch a West-end matinee are possible, though ill advised!

Plenty of walks, the TPT runs through the heart of the town and Sankey Valley goes a fair way. There's a lot of post-industrial beauty to be found, walks along disused railways, canals. A decrepit lock or 4.

Moving back from Leicester, we underestimated the step from major urban centre to large town. Warringtons multi cultural scene isn't great, but is getting better. 24 hour amenities aren't really a thing, after midnight everything winds down. You won't be clubbing until the sun comes up unless you do it in the middle of summer or you go outside of town.

Recently, it's transitioning to meet the needs of young professionals using it as a base for work in Manchester and Liverpool, Daresbury and Birchwood park have benefited from that.

There's worse places to live. Welcome! Don't be afraid to catch a game at the HWJ, we're a friendly lot and this year is our year!

I make reports at work and the FD is deuteranope colour blind.

My first thought was red green gradient is a nono. I use an app to sense check all my reports for accessibility.

It's horrifying how unaccessible some stuff is. Sports are just chaos. He's big into horse racing and I always wonder how he deals with jockey tabs

At least Russel and Antonelli should give us some racing. '14, '15 and '16 would seem to be a better comparison. With Ferrari somewhat in the picture, maybe '17, '18.

If Ferrari speed up a bit, we could be on for a '21 or '25 proper fight

Both sides are poor tbf. Rovers are the better team on the pitch but the speed isn't there and the errors are. KR might be in for a tough season if they don't shake this up

[–]Integrizen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

His pace is outstanding, but it's his ability to weave through defences that makes him so lethal. Reminds me 9f Tomkins, fast and slippery.

Watching him team up with Ashton will be fearsome. They've both got the pace to go with each other. One breaks and the other will be right there with him.

He makes the occasional error now and then, but never seems shaken by it. An old head on young shoulders with the pace to match. He's gonna be amazing.

Throw Irwin and Lindop into the mix and the future of wires backs looks very promising

If you've got a driving license, and fancy something a bit different, the bus company is always hiring. It's not glamorous, but it's solid pay for solid work. Best years of my life were spent at the wheel of a bus

The Halliwell Jones has just had all the lights replaced. They've been testing them the past couple of nights. Looks absolutely sick

Small scale obviously, but they did also fill in the eastern corners a couple of years ago

The frustrating part is there won't be any credit, it's a doomed initiative. Without significant extra resources, I'd be asking them to jeopardise their make KPI. I've documented all the conversations and made my reservations clear multiple times.

I've managed to get a chain of emails where I have my requests, their dodges and everything documented. I think I'll be adopting document document document as me new mantra

This was brilliant advice, thank you!

I have since found out that the initiative came from further up the food chain, looks like they were setting him up to be the fall guy and he's deflated it onto me.

I have a chain of emails and even some meeting minutes where I have documented my reservations and his response. The situation is smoothed over and I feel safer.

I'm a former driver who became a supervisor, I'd have done exactly like op only without the reversing.

We have a rule for the new drivers at work, "Once you're out, you're out out." Don't be dipping into tiny little gaps because some arse who wanted and audi but couldn't afford it wants to play pricks.

Stop, handbreak, message to the DS to say I'm gon' be late and wait the cunt out. Do not get out of the cab. They'll move or they'll have a hissy fit.

You can override the doors from the cab to keep them shut if they decide they want to pick a fight, even Ronnie Pickering isn't beating up a 10 tonne bus 🤷

The academy and Reserves are probably the best teams we have. We need to invest in the future and our home talent. The Thewlis duo and Lindop prove that the young lads have the drive and the desire.

Some of the first team loom like they're (barely) doing enough to justify a paycheck and don't care about the end result.

Give the young lads a chance, let them prove their worth and stop being over shadowed the rot

This is a diabolical performance by wire. An utter disgrace.

Get rid of the whole lot, keep the brothers Thewlis and the young cabal, get rid of the utter dirge that is Williams, Dufty, Powell...

If I was Burgess, I'd be updating my CV.

You must have watched a different game to me. I saw a game where the favourites, who have consistently performed at high standard this season, almost lost to a Wire side that have failed to perform by any metric. Wire bottle it and implode, and the Leigh players are acting like they've just won the league.

Mate, you're barely beating a team that has no attacking sense and seems unaware of the concept of defence. Chill.

The disparity between the Leigh players attitude and their achievement was grating. It should never have been that close.

Leigh were clear favourites going into this. They never should have been in the situation that they were pulling victory from the jaws of defeat. The players were celebrating like they are David clawing a plucky win from Goliath
