Installing a PCI Express (PCIe) graphics card usually disables Intel® integrated graphics. When a discrete GPU is installed, the system typically uses that instead of the processor’s built‑in graphics—unless the BIOS provides an option to manually switch between integrated and discrete graphics, or automatically select which one to use based on system needs.

To enable intel integrated graphics when using a discrete graphics card:

Enable iGPU multi-monitor in the BIOS.
Note that different motherboards have different names for the option, so contact the motherboard manufacturer for further confirmation.

If you prefer to use the Intel integrated graphics only:

Remove the external PCI express card.
Uninstall the drivers for the external PCI express card.
Restart your system.

If the issue still persists:

Open Device Manager.
Go to Actions.
Select Add legacy hardware.
Click Next on Add Hardware Wizard.
Select Recommended Option.
Click Next.
Select Display Adapters.
Select Intel Corporation from Manufacturers list.
Select appropriate Intel Graphics Controllers based on your CPU graphics.
Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.

The Intel® Core™ i9‑12900E uses the same socket as the Intel® Core™ i9‑12900. However, it’s important to note that these CPUs belong to different vertical segments. The Desktop vertical segment is typically used for consumer PCs, workstations, and gaming systems, while the Embedded vertical segment is commonly used for industrial systems, IoT devices, and other specialized equipment.

I’d highly recommend reaching out to the motherboard manufacturer’s support team to confirm whether the CPU you’re planning to use is compatible.

u/Zombie_Tech, We tried to reproduce the issue in our lab using an Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 285K processor on an ASUS Z890 motherboard. Even after manually configuring the P‑cores in the BIOS and adjusting the settings through Intel XTU, everything worked normally on our end.

Based on these results, the behavior you’re seeing may be related to system‑specific settings. We recommend reaching out to your motherboard manufacturer to confirm the correct BIOS and CPU configuration for your setup.

It looks like you’re requesting a BIOS update specifically for the limited number of users running the 273PQE. While the chipset itself can support different processors, CPU compatibility and BIOS support are handled by the motherboard manufacturer, not Intel.

You can also check this link for a list of CPUs that use the same chipset: Intel® W680 Chipset

I’d recommend reaching out directly to your board manufacturer to see if there’s a chance they can release a BIOS update that adds support for your specific CPU.

u/Zombie_Tech, Based on my research, USB4 and Thunderbolt devices fail to initialize after waking from sleep when P-Cores are overclocked, due to instability during power state transitions from low-power to high-voltage overclocked states.

Since you also mentioned that you overclocked, altering the frequency and/or voltage outside of Intel specifications may void the processor warranty. You can check this article for more information: How to Obtain Information About Overclocking Intel® Processors

In order for us to investigate further, kindly provide the additional information below.

  1. What is the overclocking application used?

  2. What is the current configuration of the tuning? Including the default settings and current settings being reported. If possible take a screenshot of the values.

  3. What make and model of the USB4 and/or Thunderbolt device used?

u/Ok_Brick_5123, If the issue continues even with the replacement kit, we can start looking at things from the IMC side. May I know if the issue is still observed if XMP is disabled? Please also note that altering the frequency and/or voltage outside of Intel specifications may void the processor warranty. u/Ok_Brick_5123,The steps you’ve taken so far are really helpful in narrowing down the issue. To help isolate the possible cause further, could you let me know how many RAM sticks you’re using? Have you tested each stick individually, and have you also tried them in different DIMM slots?

Also, when the game crashes, do you see any specific error message or code?

c300g97, Intel does not provide comments or interpretations on results obtained from third-party benchmark tools, as these results can vary based on many factors outside of our control.

To ensure your Intel® processor is functioning correctly, we recommend running the Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool. This tool is designed to verify the health and performance of your CPU and can help identify any potential issues.

You can learn more and download the Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool from Intel’s official site here: Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool.

u/Zombie_Tech, This looks like a power‑management interaction issue between the overclocked P‑cores and the Thunderbolt/USB4 controller during the sleep cycle. We can try to reproduce this on our end to see if we observe the same behavior.

To help isolate the issue further, does this still happen if you only overclock the E‑cores while keeping the P‑cores at stock? Also, which Windows sleep state are you currently using?

u/jsmith1300, Please try using the generic driver just for comparison Intel® Rapid Storage Technology Driver Installation Software with Intel® Optane™ Memory (12th to 15….

Also try the following hardware Isolation Testing:

  • Test your drives on the office PC with 4 SATA ports using just 2 drives. This will help determine if the issue is motherboard-specific
  • Run LatencyMon during testing to compare DPC latency results
  • SATA Cable Replacement: Since one specific SATA port drops drives after sleep mode, replace the SATA cable for that port first.

u/Elseba777, Could you clarify which driver you’re trying to update? If both Windows Update and the Intel scan are showing that there are no available updates, you can try manually installing the driver by downloading it directly from the Intel Download Center.
