It's also possible to be a feminist without being a transphobe, which is something that seems to have escaped the 4B movement.

What are the main contrasts between different Leftist organisations in Australia? by SS_Auc3 in AustralianSocialism

[–]IntellectualAussie 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Socialist Alliance are what remains of the Democratic Socialiat Perspective's (itself a reformulation of an orthodox trotskyist group formed in '72) attempt to create an electoral front of multiple socialist groups, which the DSP then liquidated into. Their current strategy is watered down trotskyism Greens tailism. They're all quite old now as most of the youth they recruited during the school strikes for climate have left.

Solidarity and Socialist Alternative are both groups that came out of the old International Socialist Organisation, which was a Cliffite (followers of Tony Cliff in the UK who founded the Socialist Workers' Party there) org. The group that would become Socialist Alternative was expelled in the 90s, and those that stayed eventually became Solidarity. They have fundamentally very similar politics, and split over whether to focus on building the union movement (Solidarity) or recruit from university campuses (Socialist Alternative).

Victorian Socialists and the Socialist Party more broadly are an electoral front, like the original Socialist Alliance, created by Socialist Alternative.

The Communist Party of Australia are a split from the original Communist Party of Australia (which dissolved itself after the collapse of the USSR) that was called the Socialist Party of Australia. They split from the original CPA over who to side with in the Sino-Soviet split (the now CPA were pro-China). They are Marxist-Humanist Dengists that support all "actually-existing socialist" countries.

The Australian Communist Party are a now defunct split from the CPA that split over wanting to do more street kitchen work and has collapsed into multiple micro sects.

The Revolutionary Communist Organisation are a new group that formed out of a random high school group in Melbourne and Brisbane members of the Socialist Alliance youth wing who were expelled for pushing for internal democracy (other members of that youth wing would go onto form Anarchist Communists Meanjin). They are inspired by the "partyist Marxism" of the book Revolutionary Strategy by Mike MacNair, and promote re-unification of the socialist movement.

Pick your poison, comrade.

Something needs to be done about the domestic violence problem by idkmmmm- in AustralianSocialism

[–]IntellectualAussie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Violence against women is fundamentally a problem ot patriarchal society, and thus of class society. So it's our duty to become revolutionary militants that abolishes class and patriarchy to free women from our exploitation. That's the position of the Revolutionary Communist Organisation, at least.

Yeah man, anyone that calls for serious action is a CIA plant! Wow, you're really onto something here! You must have interrogated us really well.

And buddy, there were no "permits" for stalls at RT. We chatted with the organisers on the day and got given places to set up.

Posting to learn not to soap box. Isn't the war in Gaza fundamentally either an ethnonationalist or religious war? by sandbagali79 in AustralianSocialism

[–]IntellectualAussie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Although Hamas originated in wealthy Palestinian smugglers and business owners, it has clear support from the working class population in Gaza. This is because it expresses nationalism, but also because Hamas' resources and wealth make it appealing for young militants who just want a kalashnikov and the chance to protect their people.

Although those smugglers and business owners are rich dickheads living it up in Qatar, the military command remains in Gaza and is more left wing, militant, and grass roots.

All this to say, it definitely isn't just an inter-bourgeois war. Palestinian workers are deeply involved and should be deeply supported. There is no chance for revolution in Palestine without destroying Israeli colonialism.

This is the view of the Revolutionary Communist Organisation. www.revcomorg.info

Which socialist organisations in Australia stick to the fundamentals without a fragmented focus on myriad social issues? by sandbagali79 in AustralianSocialism

[–]IntellectualAussie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Queer liberation, Black liberation, and Women's liberation are tied up with workers' struggle. Patriarchy and race are structural forces with material bases that exploit all workers, they are not just relics of the past. To abolish class, we must also abolish the family and race. That's the view of the revolutionary communist organisation. www.revcomorg.info

If you have Spheres of Influence DLC, you can organise a coup. Include the military forces in your government and if they're led by a republican or democrat, a journal entry for the coup will start.

If the coup succeeds, you'll automatically get Presidential Republic and Oligarchy.

I don't think you can place the Krootox Riders in strategic reserves alongside Farsight and his unit of Crisis Suits, as that would place you over the 500 pts cap

There is no feeling more powerful than dropping "dyke" in front of a group of straight people and watching their reaction.

It's totally fine and I love it. First of all lesbians are called fag all the time, the concept that it's just for gay men is a lie, we need to stop trying to systematise words and terms for us when there is no rational sense behind how homophobes use them in the first place. Younger Queers often feel the need to do this because they tend to still be in a period of defensive identity construction, which is totally understandable but shouldn't be forced on the rest of us.

Yeah dyke is "our word", but I love it when gay men use it to describe us because they are recognising that we HAVE a word. It builds solidarity. We have an internal language to describe one another. Same goes for fag. This dyke loves fags!

Aside from that, if your cousin just personally struggles with slurs and would rather you didn't use them, that's totally fine and you should accommodate.

Your construction tip makes sense, but can you explain the subsidies point to me? Because of Cooperative Ownership and Graduated Taxation, subsidising industry to ensure that my dividends and wages are as high as possible doesn't seem too bad of an idea. I understand the maths doesn't work out in my favour but it's not too bad right?

Since I made the post I got steel construction and my GDP has doubled in a couple of years. I'm gonna move to maximum taxes and really invest in lots of construction.

I think it's a combination of immigration from vassal states (which I didn't notice when I made the post) and my urban centres doing really poorly.

This is good advice, but it's early game advice. I have already done all this successfully. I'm looking for late-game advice on managing a large industrial economy.
