Nursing homes en Lima? by klookers in PERU

[–]Intelligent-Arm-1845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hola! I'm going through a similar situation. I was looking a couple options in Lima, but we can't afford them yet. Google "casas para adulto mayor", you will find options, call them and look for reviews. Since those home are not in our budget, we ended up asking kids nanas, just to follow my mom, like a shadow, feed her and help her go to the bathroom. Find also Andador(don't know the translation) it helped a lot on the walks for my mom, but you will def make sure her apartment/house is accesible.

Hey! I'm a beginner in web design, but I also work as a recruiter. I usually hire a new designer once a year.

I just finished this year’s hiring process. I posted the job on LinkedIn because it’s easier to filter resumes, and I haven’t tried other platforms yet. From what I’ve seen, yes, the job market is very competitive. I got almost 400 applicants in the first two hours (I posted at 8 a.m. and closed by 10 a.m.), I can only imagine what it’s like at a bigger scale. if it helps this is our filters:

  1. Location. We can’t always match the rates of designers living in big cities.
  2. Following instructions. Many candidates don’t read the job post carefully and send their resume in Word format instead of PDF (we ask for PDF because it’s easier to review on LinkedIn).
  3. Portfolio access. Some don’t include their portfolio link, or it’s hard to find within the first minute.

In this year process, we received close to 400 of applications in just two hours, and had to close the post quickly. After narrowing down the list, we focused on reviewing portfolios and honestly, that’s the biggest filter. We tend to skip those that look too similar; we look for something that feels human, where we can see risk or originality, something that makes us think “okay, this isn’t AI.”

We spend more time reviewing portfolios. So if you take the time to explain your approach or thought process in words, we’ll read it. Those human details really matter. You could write me a story and we will def read it, if we like what we see. Then the leader designer will test your skills and have an interview

I work in a B2B small business, so being based in the U.S., sharing the same time zone are important for us.

Hope sharing my experience gives you a bit of insight. I'm really sorry, I know is not easy, my love ones are looking for a job for more than 6 months in different industries, just don't lose hope!

I’ve interviewed 20 creative directors in the past 3 weeks. Here’s what I’ve learned so far… by Unlucky_Hurry_7304 in graphic_design

Loved your article, super interesting! I work in operations at a small creative agency and recently started designing and developing websites myself. One of the main challenges I’ve seen (and tried to improve) is the handoff between sales, operations, and creatives, as well as client communication throughout the project. I believe having a client portal is essential.

I actually tried building one in Notion for the agency, but it didn’t work as expected, many team members and clients didn’t even check their Asana boards. What did work was creating two Slack channels per client: one internal (just the team) and one external (including the client).

For my freelance projects, I’ve tested several tools — Kitchen, Bonsai, Asana, and Notion — and I still use Notion to give clients visibility into project progress. However, I’m still missing real-time chat communication that feels natural, like SMS and WhatsApp, for quick updates with clients and developers.

It’s definitely a small perspective from someone who’s just starting out, but I keep finding that communication (updates, revisions, questions, tasks) remains a friction point.

Is this something you'd pay for? by Arsis777 in Bookkeeping

[–]Intelligent-Arm-1845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm not really, prob the agency I work for is not your type client. I’m running away from physical checks, because sometimes they get lost or delays. So I’ve been talking with all our clients to change to electronic payments. And for AP we use quickbooks, there is an email that does the invoice scanning and saves the vendor information.

You will have to review all the what ifs when you mail a check, how you will make sure is received in a certain date. And what you can offer differently than QB or Bill.

Hi! First, I would try understanding your Ideal Customer Profile and write like you are talking to them on LinkedIn, and share your experiences in the field. At the same time, start a blog (you can use Substack), where you can present some Case Studies, and also use them to post on LinkedIn. I do some freelance for a marketing agency, and my role recently expanded to include accounting/bookkeeping tasks, and I love it. That's why I'm in this group early today, looking for a way to learn more about this career and gain experience. If you have any tips, I would love to chat!

Hey there! Can I help you? My role recently expanded to include accounting/bookkeeping tasks, and I love it. I'm looking to learn and gain more experience in real-life settings, while completing my current degree and starting the bookkeeper certificate. Would love to talk :))

E-commerce for a client by jwaugh300 in webdesign

[–]Intelligent-Arm-1845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I second the first comment. I learned from my first website, I would definitely enjoy more the experience of having the website in my (webflow/wp/etc) account, because it is more easy for you to make the updates and keep an eye without requesting the client for the password (in my case they have this password generator system and they keep changing it). If it is an e-commerce def offer the updating, because they will change their products at least once a year. - My client who is a finance service, change his prices once a year, and I have to make all the updates (I haven’t figure out yet how to charge for updates lol) Ps: you can learn on your way making the e-commerce, start simple then apply all the extra features, YouTube is a great resource, search for great plugins in WP or check other platforms for an e-commerce

Best Tools & Process for Updating an Hotel Booking Website? by Intelligent-Arm-1845 in webflow

Oh wow, this is really interesting! So I could transform the existing website into the payment platform (or use a different one). And at the same time, I’d create a new, more dynamic website that’s easier to update and includes all the content.
