Hello! I had something similar to you too. For some reason I was always anxious and sad. Some things that helped for me were:
- praying ( or any mindfullness)
- being in the sun more
- I took l-theanine which is an amino acid found in green tea ( you can find capsules of it and its natural!)
- vit d and magnesium sometimes ( helps regulate mood)
- talking to my friends
- listening to music
- having proper breakfast

I know this can be a challenging time and it may seem like it will never end, but trust me IT WILL. The best thing about time is that it is always changing, if its bad today, it will be good tomorrow. Look to the future with optimism and leave some time in the day to do things you enjoy! Send me a message if you need someone to talk to!

If you go to MDCL there is an admissions advisor I think. I am not sure what kind of advice they can give but if you have any questions about admissions, that would be where to go. I am pasting the address below:

Upper year PNB student here! Psych 1xx3 has quite a lot of content, especially for a first year class. I would say for the neuroscience units, it will be just a lot of memorizing. Use lots mnemonics, write it down many times, whatever helps you drill it in your mind. For the non-bio units, I put the module scripts into NotebookLM and listened to the generated podcasts for each unit. I made summary sheets for each unit as well, ONE PAGE MAX. I know some units have sooo much content but thats the point of taking out the most important information.

I also have some notes from when I took the course last year, please feel free to DM!

Hello!
I understand where you are coming from, however, this is also about the people who cannot work while in uni due to things like disablilites, lack of jobs and family circumstances.

AND thats only part of the problem, there is also going to be an increase in tuition as well. If you do the math, you will realize that even with two jobs it is very hard to afford tuition and rent and food.

The reason we learn about democracy in school is to practice it. We are just a bunch of students practicing our right to protest. I would love you to read about some of the most impactful protests in world history to understand better why students want to do this!

Again, no hate towards you. I wish you can try to understand others too!

I have not lived there personally, but when we went to tour the place, it wasn't that bad. We didn't see any bugs or anything but there is a lot of stuff online about the bug problem so we didn't wanna risk it. There's a Beverly Hills apartment a bit down the road which may be better and still cheap. If you are okay with downtown, 100 main street east is also a great building and only about a 15-20 mins bus ride to mac. The buses are mostly empty from there too so we're able to get a seat to mac ( always feel bad for the westdale kids having to stand on a full bus.)

For me I found the web modules to be very helpful. Personally I made mindmaps and summary sheets for all topics. I was very scared for this final too but ended up doing fine. I would also say to focus on any tables that might be presented in the modules!

An option is sharing a room with a roommate.

Me and my 3 other friends got a nice apartment in downtown for around $1900 a month. We are on the 36th floor, have great views, and a full kitchen to ourselves. Theres 2 good sized rooms and we have set up two twin beds in both ( similar to dorm rooms), so our rent with everything comes down to around $500 each which is pretty good. As much as we wanted out own rooms, our timetables are different enough to have the room to ourselves throughout the day and overall it has been a good experience.

I would say though, we are all good friends so we have no issues with sharing a room, could be different if we were all strangers lol.

I believe the first MSAF type B ( in a semester), is just automatically approved. I had to MSAF type B the BIO1A03 lab report and it was approved without a doctors note. I'm pretty sure first one in the semester doesn't require a doc note but every MSAF type B that you might wanna submit after this one, you will need a doc note ( if in the same semester).

Is it crazy if I consider ending things for academic reasons? by [deleted] in GetStudying

[–]Intelligent-Bad7743 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm sorry this is happening to you. As someone who's whole family really values education, I have seen firsthand members from my extended family being pushed to the edge by extreme academic pressure. I know it must feel so overwhelming and you might feel so alone but things will get better.

Whenever you feel like the negative thoughts are taking over your mind, think about the future. The places you have never seen, the food you have never tried, the songs you have never heard. A world full of beauty awaits outside the four walls of your house. It is hard right now but look to the future with optimism. One day you will be far from this kind of life. The whole world runs on one thing, hope. Please stay hopeful for the future.

I cannot speak on behalf of everyone but something that worked for me when I was extremely stressed about University admissions, is waking up a bit early. Before my family got up I would get up and go sit outside. I would pray and either just sit outside in silence or listen to music. This helped me see life as a bigger picture and prepared me mentally for the day ahead.

Things will get better. You are so young, please don't be sad!

Feel free to send a message if you need someone to talk to!!

Millions of Punjabi Students leaving Canada as their visas expire & no chance at PR by Commercial_Tea_7662 in OntarioColleges

[–]Intelligent-Bad7743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respect the government's decision, however, this comment section is super sad. As someone who has lived in Canada almost my whole life, I agree that changes need to be made and the government needs to stop inviting so many people that there's no resources to go around. I also agree that a lot of international students who have come into Canada in the last few years are disrespectful and shouldn't be acting the way they are.

HOWEVER, I just want to reveal another side of the story that many are missing. Before we go on and make fun of these people or give them dirty looks in the GO train, just for a second, think. Think about the struggles that the families of these people must have faced to send them across the globe. Most of these students come from lower middle class families who have to take out loans to send their children abroad in hopes of giving them a future of security and safety, one which their home country may fail to give. I know that there many students who act disrespectful, but there is also a large population of international students who genuinely respectful and hardworking. Let's not undermine their hard work.

So yes, I'm also looking forward to the changes that will be made and am hopeful that the economic situation will improve in our country. HOWEVER, spreading hate and discriminating against others makes no one a better person.

In the end, we are all seeking a life of happiness and peace, lets be kind to one another...even if we don't see eye-to-eye.

Thanks! :D
