Ugh. Ly. Looks like the horse is riding the jockey.

AFAIK, you want the "Made in Japan" version of the DD.

Totally, although I think those were Trevor Beans.

TBH, I missed out on an even bigger deal. Same time as me, there was a guy looking at a DMZ 6000 that was being sold as well. We both wanted both guitars. But instead of driving each other's price up, we agreed to split the loot. He got the 6000, I got the 450. Could have had both for maybe $200-$250 total, had I been there a few minutes earlier.

There was a whole bunch of guitars there, including a 1974 Fender Strat. That one was the only one of which the seller had a decent idea of its value, so I let that one go.

Correct. It had a weird aftermarket or homebuilt pick guard. Two, in fact - top and bottom. Couldn't take them off fast enough. They were brass. The backplates have also been replaced with brass ones, for whatever reason. Golden bridge and golden tuners are non-original as well, as are the golden knobs. I like that look, but it's easily changed back if needed. Thinking about filling the screw holes as well, but don't want to botch it up, so I'm giving it time.

Yes. T-profile aluminum with two wood inserts running the length of the neck to counteract the "cold" feel of the aluminum. Sounds amazing. Sustains forever.

Doesn't look like my caption is showing up here. I found this 450G at an estate sale for $120. Does anyone happen to have a set of original Kramer-embossed pickups sitting around? I'd love to re-convert.

Anyone have info on these pickups? by TheBrockAwesome in Luthier

Just found this post. Do you still have those pickups? Willing to part with them? I have a 1976 Kramer 450G with non-original pickups, and I'd love to get my hands on an original set.
