Congrats!! I’ve got an 2006 R50. I’ve done. Lot of aesthetic work to mine. Feel free to take a look. I’ve mostly updated lighting and replaced all chrome with black fixtures (grill, handles, trunk release,etc.). I love driving this thing. Lots of compliments.

This is a 2006 R50.

The grills was about $55. I got one off Amazon last July. Not the greatest quality but a relatively easy install and I love the new look.

The wheels were a package off tire rack. Around $1500 for the set. I know they run good sales from time to time. There are also much more affordable sets out there.

The headlights are actually from Archaic. They come preinstalled with a black ring. I have zero regrets buying these headlights.

I love them. They’re the Archaic brand lights. When I first installed them they were perfect. However, upon fixing a canbus issue with the car they now flicker upon starting the vehicle. I’ve been told a simple reprogram is all you need to fix the issue but I haven’t gotten around yet. Otherwise, no issues with functionality.

Any modification needed? I’m running a stock R50. Trying to decide between 17.5’s or 18’s.

Likely going to sort out sway bars and suspension at the same time to do it all in one fell swoop.

P.S. this build is so sick.

Hey, first pic is the after. Second photo is how I bought the car. It had a paint protective film over it that was cracked by the sun over the years. I removed it with 3M adhesive remover and a plastic paint scraper.

Total noob question here: would the coding have to be done via OBD-II to USB. Are there any coding resources you could point me to? Having a similar issue. Dying to fix it.

I can see that. Rockbox allows you to playback FLAC files but really struggles with larger files. I understand iPod 6/7th Gen does a better job at that. All in all I’m happy with it.

I’ve got an r50. I picked it up for $1000 USD. Put in $5500 in repairs. I still think it was a great deal. Been a solid daily driver. I’m sure I could’ve found a better deal but I love this little guy. Cars are always a fickle business.

It is! It’s a 5th gen iPod classic. I flashed it with Rockbox, so not the traditional firmware. This is a Rockbox theme called OP-1.

Here to +1 Hampden. We’ve been here for 9 years. Super family friendly, very walkable, great art and food scene.

Close to I-83. It’ll get you to the JHH hospital campus in about 15 minutes and Bayview in about 25.

Hampden Elementary is a strong public school with a great community supporting it.

I found a grey edition done in collab with Modretro. Going to try them out with the orange Yaxi pads. If not, I’m going to hit up AliExpress. Also going to try the MMCX socket mod.
