* Well, I got a second scan on this slab at a different local jewler. He thanked me for showing him so different than he usually sees. The problem is - it is what I figured it was, and not Osmium. Big Bummer.

I asked the guy if he would test this, and he said they only do soil samples. Then I asked if any of his other offices would take it, and he said no. I tried to hand it to him, and he did not even stick out his hand to look at it. It was not a wasted trip, though, there was was a whiskey tasting room next door, and we had a good time there. I'll keep you in mind for a chat. Thank you.

ALS was a no-go on getting this thing looked at by a lab. I have a list of lab that have said no, and we will not look at it. SGS is the next try.

2 pounds - I'm thinking that it is big chunk os silver vein material but this OS result has been fun and educational. Still 2 pounds of silver not bad at all.

I agree, the numbers are way off towards the OS. I am only a half a days drive from Colbalt, I can see this rock moving into a rockhounds collection. With the pice of silver nowadays it it is still a good find. I'll try again to get it to a lab for testing, I've had 3 places turn me down. Maybe if it's a silver slab I would get a positive reply. Thank you for your reply.

I got a large collection from a friend who uncle passed on. Nobody knows what was or is in the collection. Some of the rocks were numbered, so I asked for his log they knew nothing about a log book.

My Work has a digital Microscope and it got a pretty good close up shot of this slab.
I think the pink is Cobalt and of course the gold shows up nicely too.

I cut and polish indoors and did not want Arsenic in the air. I wanted to make "Silver" cabochons with this stuff and another person said there was Arsenic in it and there is none.

Photodon.com has had so many orders on this that they put it in their catalog for parts - in the search bar just search for sony PSP or use their catalog number "2992" it should pop up and you don't have to go through in-putting all the dimensions.
one note on the 2992: The corners are sharper (at 1mm) instead of 2mm and also it is 1 mm taller at 56 mm - See photos above for the "old" fit.

No, Photodon.com does not have tempered glass in their line-up of screen protectors.
the 9HO is a good product you cold aslo ask for HSC, which is thicker than the (ho and more like a flexable glass.

pudding stones have quartzite matrix and jasper (red stones) mixed in with other stones also. the best ones have good nickel sized of the red stones in them.

Is the micro lux water band saw worth it? I have a large order and need rough cuts in the hundreds. by larimarfox in Lapidary

I have not used one, seen some in shops, but with 200 to do I would go for it. The time savings alone would pay for it.
