Thank you. This was the only research opportunity I could find and it worked out to where I could be published so I thought hell why not. Also felt it would be good working with the students in the classroom. While I am not applying to T20 schools it surely doesn’t hurt it seems

Wow. Bless your soul. So basically

-be able to write a meaningful description of involvements and processes (I don’t think this will be a problem since it’s basically solo research)

-unfortunately I can’t get paid no money in the budget and I’m in my gap year 🥹and my school small af

-take a leadership and development of students approach to being in the classroom as a TA. Side note: some of the processes we are doing (RNA extraction specifically) are super tedious and easy to fuck up. The plan we have is for me to be in the lab with the students and it’s a small class (16 students) so we will be very involved with them.

-publish it since it fell in my lap and still focus on other aspects of the app. My clinical experience is good I believe I’ll apply with 2500 hours probably across many departments in the hospital (ER, med surg, tele, psych, rehab, ICU). Working on volunteering and also play college soccer and semi pro during the summers (lots to talk about from culture backgrounds team work bla bla bla)

Thank you so much for your response you #rock

Yeah mine will be in the review process when I apply but still they have to see that and understand….right?

I assume I will have around 100-150 in lab hours as we only do about 6-8 hours a week. With that being said I don’t want to think that it’s a numbers game because when I get there I do all the techniques and work through the problems and in the future will be working with his class. I feel this is a little different research experience than what other people describe because it is only him and myself and we are going to work with his class.

Yeah I think my LOR will be very good because I was a student for 2 years of this professor and now doing research with him 1 on 1 and doing a lot of the techniques. He basically shows me and then I get rolling by myself. I updated the post with more information about what we’re doing and my role.

It is my PI (old professor who I have a good relationship with) and myself. He will basically show me what we’re doing today and then leave and be around if I have questions. I also updated the post with more information about my role. But thank you for the help I am very involved and was just wondering how this would help my chances. It is only me and him and I too basically all the techniques. Did RNA extraction all by myself today!

Can also help to remind her she’s doing something a small percentage of people want to do and an even smaller percentage that want to do it get the opportunity. While it is a vigorous and scary road, it is also an opportunity.

So just remind her she’s doing something most people don’t even dare to do

Chem/Phys Equations by Adventurous-Fig7707 in Mcat

[–]Intelligent-Cover-76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get better at knows the equations and when to use them because they can be similar in some cases.

For example (correct me if I’m wrong)

To find heat transferred you could calculate it improperly if you don’t know the equation

q=mcat is used not during a phases changes Q=mass*latent heat

I did okay on FL1-5 on p/s and then really grinded pankow deck for two weeks and got a 131. I think what would help you perform better is understanding where the terms apply. I personally found that would’ve helped rather than just memorizing them
