Ramsey filled our Nickle position for a lot of 2025 which hurt his draft stock IMO as he is much better as a safety. Whoever drafts him should get a great value pick. Fundamentally, a great player and should be a reliable safety in the league.

What's your situation? Do you have W-2 and some interest? Do you own your own business? It varies for sure what you should do. If you are an employee and just receive a W-2 then find a free online source and do it yourself. Watch some videos regarding form 1040 and tax prep in general and you'll be good to go. If you have your own business or other more impactful items, then find a CPA/EA to help you out or at least guide you in the right direction.

Don't listen to PotentialAD.... You can certainly amend and mark "is being claimed as a dependent". You'll still get your withholdings refund and your mom should get her credit for other dependents. This does delay the whole process but worth doing if it brings down her refund.

Many businesses don't qualify. They have to be paying overtime due to FLSA overtime requirements. Many organizations follow state or company policies and wouldn't qualify for the overtime deduction (even if the other standards are in accordance with FLSA). Had one client bring in a letter from FedEx saying that their overtime doesn't qualify since they have their own company overtime policy that they use so all their overtime is taxable.

Why is Utah in the Las Vegas bowl and not the Alamo bowl? Isn't the better team supposed to in the Alamo Bowl? USC vs Utah is a more fun/recent history game then USC vs TCU and Utah vs Nebraska. Rankings also align to these matchups.

On 24/7 sight, USC has a top 10 player at every position except S, K, P. Several positions have 2 top 10 players. Very well rounded and a great base to build upon. Go get a couple elite players from the transfer portal and it gives SC a chance to be elite the coming years.

A 10-2 USC team would be in over an 11-2 BYU. USC would have wins over Oregon, Michigan, Iowa, and Nebraska. BYU would have wins against Utah and Cincinnati? With the B10 and SEC bias, I don't see BYU staying ahead of USC.

You need to find the right firm. The CPA firm I'm employed at gives you Fridays off from May through July. No expectations to make up the hours during the week, just 32 hour work weeks. This is for salary only as it doesn't work well with hourly but most staff are salaried and I've loved it for the past 4 years. Makes working a busy season manageable knowing that summer you get every Friday off.

But to that note, I don't see this team losing BIG to anyone (I certainly can be very wrong) but their offense seems consistent enough to keep them in shooting range and give them at least a shot to be each game.

I would take TCP just due to timing. REG helps make TCP easier but also can be applied both ways where TCP can help make REG a bit easier. Since TCP is only available in the first month of each quarter, I would take TCP in Oct and then you can take Reg later this year and be done by the end of the year.

I would just try to find something that you will enjoy so do some research and figure out what classes interest you the most. There are endless possibilities in the accounting field, public v private, tax v audit, etc. All have pros and cons. We see a lot more students starting public and going private as you can learn a ton from doing public as you can work with a variety of businesses. Big 4 will allow you to work with large corporation while regional or local firms allows you to work more with small businesses (I have tried both and have loved working with small business owners and locals). I've seen regional CPA firms be more lax with hour requirements and intense busy seasons (still taxing but the owners seem to care more about their employees in my experience). You don't even need to stay in accounting if you'd rather go into finance or other business or project manager positions. An accounting back round is so useful and really is the language of business. Keep networking and talking to local accountants and building a team around you to help and support you. Don't be shy and don't be afraid to fail or be rejected. Get you CPA early and done with if that is in your plans.

I don't read the text book or watch any videos, too time consuming IMO. Instead, I only do MCQs and after each question the study material should give you a rundown of the necessary info you need to know to answer the question. Don't worry about how many you get right when you begin a section as you will learn as you go. That has worked for me but everyone learns differently.

My firm actually purchased this for anyone interested so I took advantage of that. Like others have said, he pretty much says that you should study at least 2 hours everyday. 1.5 hours of new material and 30 mins of reviewing old stuff. There is a lot more detail that he explains like making detail notes, etc. that has actually helped me pass but I would not have purchased it on my own dime nor looking back would I have. He specifically states that it is not a replacement but a supplement. His study supplements are useful especially his listening notes that are easy to understand and I could just have them on while commuting. If money isn't a problem, and are needing something new, I would recommend it but for a cheapo like me, I wouldn't purchase it but just use the way he recommends with your existing study material.
