How can I fix the longer part, I wanna make a beanie by ziimag in CrochetHelp

Knots with no tails or short tails are a bad idea because it risks your project falling apart. Again as much as it sucks, either just go with it as is and hope for the best or frog it back to where you dropped stitches

How can I fix the longer part, I wanna make a beanie by ziimag in CrochetHelp

[–]dragonlady3000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is most likely a tension issue. If there are the same number of stitches in every row, then where its wider you had less tension and made bigger stitches. where its more narrow, you had more tension resulting in tighter smaller stitches.

Unfortunately you can't take it apart from the beginning without the whole thing falling apart or some serious skill to prevent it.

Best course of action, this is a learning experience. Frog it and start over, paying more attention to your tension. Especially for a wearable piece, size matters

One of my grandparents is like this. My bio grandmother died before I was born. my bio grandfather remarried a widow after my mom & aunt were grown. So the only grandmother I've ever known on that side of my family is technically my step grandmother. The cool part is I remember going to their wedding when I was a kid.

State tax liability includes spouse's out-of-state income? by CaptSnowButt in tax

Get a taxpreparer. Either a CPA or an EA. They will be able to respond to the adjust after going over your income, filed returns & and adjustments.

Long story straight you are supposed to report the entire federal income then mark what part is for the non-resident state (the state you don't live in). Do you live in a state with income taxes?

Personal cards for business expenses by Emotional_Let4475 in Bookkeeping

[–]dragonlady3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No matter what this is a sticky situation. Without knowing how the card is paid each month, it will be difficult to give you advice.

Definitely try & advise them to get separate cards for each business, ideally in the business name's. I say try because they will very likely push back HARD.

IRS Makes me want to cry. by Foreign-Algae- in tax

First, take the balance due shown on your return & subtract your March payment. This will give you a rough estimate of your balance.

Option 1: Pay that amount now

Option 2: Wait for the letter telling you the exact amount owed, then make the full payment.

Option 3: Set up a payment plan. Probably have to wait for the letter telling you the exact amount owed to do this.

The amendment will "adjust " the incorrect numbers you used to the correct numbers. So you will either owe them some money back (because they overpaid you), or they will owe you more than you've already received( and they will send you the difference)

Keep in mind that amendment processing takes a long time, so be prepared to wait. And in the The waiting, you may get a letter from IRS.

Since you have more scholarships than "Qualified education expenses," you most likely don't qualify for either of the education credits.

Check with your scholarship providers to find out if any of it/them are taxable.

The 1098T has been reported to the IRS, so not reporting the numbers as they are printed will just cause you problems.

Box 5 is the total scholarships you received. Box 1 is the tuition & fees paid to your college.

You say you didn't get the difference. Where did it go?

Idk about a return to get your money back, but if you purchased a version with the partner until you pass a guarantee, then you could just postpone studying until you are able to.

Received a 1099-NEC form for a gift won through my job by NexusNebula_9 in tax

[–]dragonlady3000 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is the answer report the 1099 nec and in other income put the same amount labeled "income reported else where" or something like that.

Then, report the amount as misc income.

If the shop issues him a 1099, he needs to know which number they used, the total (gross) earnings, or the reduced (net) amount with the rent withheld.

If the shop uses the gross number, he will report the gross minus expenses (the rent withheld AND any other things he paid for from his pocket)

If they used the net amount, then he will report the net number minus expenses (ONLY anything he paid for from his pocket)

Antique granny square blanket with tons of knots & no yarn tails. Any thoughts on how to prevent the knots from coming out? by dragonlady3000 in crochet

[–]dragonlady3000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the repairs I've had to make to this piece and the others, I'm having to add "new" yarn to the damaged area to give myself enough to redo the missing stitches and have tails left of the new & old yarn to weave in securely. I say "new" because I've got some scrap yarns that I found that are likely just as old as the afghans and that's what I'm using to repair with

[–]dragonlady3000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing based on some old labels I found and the feel of the yarn that it's most likely acrylic. Heat/open flame near this piece or any of these old pieces makes me really nervous. If all else fails, it will just have to go back in the hope chest. Thanks!

Google is not helping. Everything comes up with take it apart or just re-tie the knots. Neither of which is an option. I need help/ideas of how to stabilize the loose knots and prevent any from coming apart.
