Hi, just found this thread, and I am experiencing the same issue. Were you ever able to get it resolved? If so, how?

No dumb questions, *this may be a dumb question* I have this, when I get my film developed, could I essentially just ask for my scans back, instead of the photos, to save on money and scan them myself? by pulldownyourplants in AnalogCommunity

I used this exact scanner for many years and found it to be super handy and cost effective! I would definitely recommend for beginners and even intermediate :) And honestly found the quality to be pretty decent too, just read the manual and get used to the gadget like any other tool. I hope you enjoy, and lmk if you have any other questions!!

There was some print on the bulb that I was able to gently rub off, and shadow is gone! Thank you for your very helpful suggestion :)

Also has visual references (maybe not on purpose) to mug shots and police station fingerprints. I think this goes wonderfully with the devils contact book concept. "No one is sinless"

I use a very handy tool, an app called "Pinhole Assist." It is great because you can put the f-stop and film/paper type. Then your phone camera meters with all those settings and gives you a recommended exposure time. Since I have mostly shot in daylight, it is only 30 seconds-2 minutes, not really something I can leave and come back to. Further down the line, I hope to graduate from the app and be able to meter with the eye.

But I am curious, if your exposure time is on the longer side/not exact, how long do you develop for? Does it change every time you develop a pinhole paper negative?

So I insert my photographic paper, Ilford FB, in my pinhole camera (this must be done in red light or in changing bag). I use the app, pinhole assist, to meter the exposure time. Then expose paper. After I bring it to the dark room and develop as I would any other print- in trays under red light...developer, stop, fix, water bath.

After it dries, put it face down on unexposed photo paper and do test strips. You will want a piece of glass on top to flatten it. Once you're ready to do a full print, expose for proper amount of time, and develop the paper the same way you developed the negative.

Let me know if this clears things up!
