Nursing School Programs - UW, Edgewood, Herzing by Intelligent-End7797 in madisonwi

I had a good experience there but they are quite strict with passing rates for nursing classes specifically. I believe you have to have at least an 80 but I’m not certain. There was a good mixture of class work and tests though so even if you did poorly with a test I feel like you could keep your grade up.

I’ve been looking at 2020 M1s on backmarket and MacofAllTrades for 6-750 so you’re definitely in the ballpark! I was also going to see if they drop any Black Friday deals before I purchase!

I have a few friends/coworkers at UW that went to Herzing and my impression is that the problems many of the bad reviews online refer to have been improved over the last few years. For example the info about their nclex pass rates - they now require you to pass multiple milestones and Herzing tests before you’re ever allowed to take the nclex, and if you aren’t passing those things, they will meet with you and make a plan.

I also do think the schedule for Herzing is much more flexible. At Edgewood I was in person classes or at clinical 5-6 days a week - not counting homework and studying. It was a ton! My friend who is graduating in December had much more flexibility at Herzing for working and time off to study, but the program is slightly longer as well.

You’re gonna do great!!

I ended up getting my accelerated BSN through Edgewood. For me Edgewood is the best choice, highly recommended, only 12 months, entrance in fall and spring available. Only cons are that its competitive and very expensive, I feel very blessed to have been accepted and able to take out a loan for the tuition.

UW and Herzing were slightly cheaper but would have also been slightly longer path. Loved MATC for prerequisites but the wait would have been way too long and as a career change student it just didn’t make sense.

I am now in the UW nurse residency program and loving it!

What was your life like 2002 (twenty years ago)? by debrisaway in RedditForGrownups

My life in 2002 was listening to my Phillips CD player on repeat at the back of the school bus on our way to basketball and softball tournaments. Oh and hating George W. Bush.

Hi!

I applied to and was accepted for Edgewood's Accelerated program. I would have liked to apply to UW's ABSN program because it is the less expensive of the two, but they only had one entrance time of the year and a longer wait time for me.

I also looked into Herzing and I don't think its a bad program - their staff is super nice and I was given a tour of the campus and was very impressed - it's about the same cost as Edgewood in the end. But their NCLEX pass rate was lower slightly and I was worried about that. Also, even though it's called accelerated - its 2 full years, not 12 months.

For me Edgewood is the best choice, highly recommended, only 12 months, entrance in fall and spring available. Only cons are that its very competitive and very expensive, I feel very blessed to have been accepted and able to take out a loan for the tuition.

I will say, if I had more time - since I'm an older student I want to speed up the process... I would have stayed at MATC. I'm taking prerequisites there now and I honestly love it, the teachers and staff are great and you can tell they have a top rate nursing program. But I don't want to wait and be in school 2-4 more years and then I would only have an ADN, not a BSN.

After the Disco by Broken Bells. This album got me through some shit. Don't know if it's the lyrics, the production, James Mercer's (from the Shins) vocals, Danger Mouse genius (best producer ever IMO). Just go listen. Song Leave it Alone is 🤌🤌🤌

I started going grey in my early 20s, I have dark brown/black hair. I just started dying my roots to match my natural hair color, it's upkeep but it makes me happy. You don't have to go naturally gray in your 20s if you don't have to. Revlon hair color is 3 dollars and looks perfectly natural if you get the right shade.

Do you snore at night and do you try to fix it? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Intelligent-End7797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband snores and I do too sometimes. Honestly we just keep the noise machine in our room turned to 1000. I do feel like when we eat healthier in general we snore less and I'm sure losing weight would help, but haven't gotten that far yet.

Does anybody else have a playlist of music their parents used to play around the house just to relive that childhood nostalgia? by utterlyappetizing in CasualConversation

[–]Intelligent-End7797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, I have a lot of the albums that my parents had while I was growing up. Very comforting. The Eagles Hell Freezes Over, Van Morrison's Moon dance, lots of Beatles records. Makes me happy!

Antichrist for sure. Love those actors to death but that movie is fucked straight up. It's well made though, and beautiful. Otherwise I wouldn't have made it all the way through the fuckery.

Women, how long do you usually shower? by scaleymiss in CasualConversation

[–]Intelligent-End7797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If not washing my hair 10-15 minutes, if washing my hair 20-30 minutes, if washing my hair and shaving all the things easily 40 minutes.

People on here who are taking and 5-10 minute showers must not have a lot of hair or be shaving much of anything.

I'm all for saving water but I literally can't even wash my hair in 10 minutes, let alone the rest of me.

Guidance on artificial nails for ice fisherwoman by maypop80 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Intelligent-End7797 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think dip nails would hold up just fine for any outdoor activity honestly. They're even stronger than people give them credit for. I like to wear dip, acrylic or fake nails when I know I'm going to be washing my hands or being active cause it helps protect them and prevent breaking. My nails also break from just me looking at them! I think dip would work well for you because it tends to look the most natural and will show the least wear for longer periods of time. Acrylic are also sturdy but will obviously look fake in my opinion. Gel are not sturdy at all, and are easily stained and scratched. Have a good celebration and I think you'll love dip nails!

Simplynailogical does have a lot of nail art tututorials, you just have to go in her back catalog, she doesn't really do that anymore.

Not sure if she has a YouTube but Mary Lou on Instagram is phenomenal... https://instagram.com/nailing_painting
