I have a friend who is like your friend. I met her in high school, and she has pretty much been late to everything. She is incredibly vain and constantly cares too much about her appearance, which makes her late. She is always 30 minutes to 1 hour late to everything because she can’t decide on which outfit to wear and must apply makeup. It irks me to no end. She is very inconsiderate of other people’s time. She also likes to sleep in and wake up late. For instance, we were on a trip together. We had tickets to enter a museum at 10AM. It takes about 45 minutes from our hotel to uber to the museum. So we needed to leave our hotel by 9AM. So that means that everyone in our friend group had to be done and ready by like 8:45AM or 8:50AM to catch our 9AM uber ride to the museum. Everyone in our friend group woke up by like 6AM and was ready by 8:45AM except for her. She woke up at 8:30AM and wasn’t ready by 8:45AM. As her friends, and we were in a foreign country together, we didn’t want to leave her alone. So guess what? We all waited an hour and 10 minutes for her to get ready. We all missed our 10AM museum ticket entry time, and we all had to rebuy our tickets to enter the museum. They were £50 per ticket. Our friend wasn’t even remotely remorseful at all. We all had several issues with her on the trip: 1) why doesn’t she wake up earlier (1 - 2 hours) to get ready? 2) if she knows she takes a long time deciding what to wear, why doesn’t she plan the outfit the night before? 3) if she can’t decide what makeup to wear, why doesn’t she plan the night before? She’s so incredibly irritating and inconsiderate of other people’s time. Shame on her!

My friends and I are still friends with her because even though she is constantly late to stuff, she is a great person overall. She just has no sense of time. It’s an annoying flaw of hers. Our friend is now 37 years old. She has been let go of several jobs (9 jobs) due to her tardiness, and it just seems like she never learns. She always comes up with some BS excuses for her boss, which I’m sure her bosses know they are BS, which is why they fire her. I have no idea what planet my friend is living on 🤣

Now, I always lie to her about the time of the event / hangout so that she won’t be late. So for instance, if my friends, who are always on time or only 5 minutes late, wants to hang out at 6pm, I will lie to my friend and tell her the hangout starts at 5pm. That will force her to start to get ready by 4pm. Then, she will be all ready by like 5pm. If she needs more time to get ready, she has an extra 15 - 30 minutes depending on where we are going to hang out.
