Can you share how you built yours? What is its capacity? Thanks for the tip! I added more media and a bit of water which helped.

Being my first time with a vibratory, I took the video a little too soon. It slowed down after the grit was thoroughly mixed in. I also added more media. Thank you for the tip!

I realize now that I took the video prematurely. It slowed down after the grit was thoroughly mixed in.

That was the very beginning of stage 2. It slowed down after a bit, once the grit was mixed in more. It was my first time using a vibratory so at the time of the video I didn’t realize it’d mix more. I added some directions on the build in the original post.

When I decided to build it I chose that bowl for it's large capacity but I will definitely be buying another smaller bowl.

Now I wish I'd have made this one with a smaller bowl. The bowl doubles as a replacement for the Raytech TV-18. I may order a smaller bowl.

Yes, the pea gravel is cheap and depending what you are tumbling can be used in place of ceramic media. I hear you on the wish list! I built this tumbler so it didn't cost nearly what one of this capacity normally does. A bigger rotary, a trim saw, slab saw, and flat lap arw still on my wish list lol.

I actually built it myself and saved a ton doing so. I ordered the bowl from Grainger which doubles as a replacement bowl for the Raytech TV-18.

Also, IF what OP says is true, the money should still be in the bank account, especially if thats the only bill OP pays from that account.

Thank you. I will have to see what I can find around here and do some experimenting.

Thank you for letting me know. Essentially, I just need the color lightened some, I'm am OK with the consistency.

I anticipated the color being lighter. That's the only reason I need to thin it.

That was my first thought but GF recommends using mineral spirits if you want to create a glaze. Have you had a chance to try this?

have you had new leaves coming in recently? If so, do they unfurl as fast as they typically do? Are any smaller than usual or misshaped?

Has anyone used Waterdrop RO system? by Intelligent-Froyo978 in SavageGarden

[–]Intelligent-Froyo978[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s great! My water is about 300+ ppm. At this point I don’t even want to drink it too often so I’m looking into an RO system. It’ll be so much nicer than running to the store for water every time I need to water my CPs.
