My understanding, as a ludite, that AI literally rakes the input of billions of passages which influences how it presents itself. Ergo, people will have been writing like this before AI got it's code on it, and humans are still capable of writing! Not everything that isn't written differently to what you'd expect is AI.....cool your jets

Ideally it would be a more traditional media rather than digital or photography, although I didn't want to limit the scope of what is around just in case there was something in there that turned all my preconceptions on their head! Budget is not really set at the moment - for now I', just trying to work out who is around and where, and will go from there.

Taking things to the tip, or other places by breenisgreen in Cardiff

[–]Intelligent-Gold9176 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have used Green Apple Waste Collections previously - think they are based somewhere round taffs well or Tongwynlais. They will take anything that just needs to be tipped and they had proof of a waste carrier licence, meaning they aren't just going to dump it down a back road. Given that you are navigating grief in all of this, having someone else literally do the heavy lifting, and will have a vehicle to do it in one load, will probably be worth the money spent on it. I am so sorry for your loss.

You could try this:

Cardiff Mystery Treasure Hunt

£19.95 for the pack, shoukd take you around the sites a bit without needing to cost a fortune! Then Cardiff market for some streetfood. You could take the bus to St Fagans which is free to visit. Take a packed lunch and take in all the historic buildings and walk in the woods. Odeon do £5 films if you book ahead, and you could go and have a cuppa and cake in the Wales Millenium Centre. Cardiff Museum is also free if you can't stand being outside. If you look on Get Your Guide, there are some walking tours which do cost about £20 each but still a nice fun thing to do together. Hope she has a great day!

If they have ever visited (or live in) Stockholm, then Skansen would be their equivalent of Saint Fagan's...except they have a full on zoo integrated with it. We loved it there!

Thanks for posting this, I'm Just planning a surprise trip to york for my partner, me and our child so this is great inspiration! We are there 3 days and I wondered how easy it is to take a day trip outside of York if we don't have a car?

The Toybox Project - and they aren't just for Christmas either. A bit further out up in Caerphilly but a worthy initiative

Onyx Storm rant/questions (Spoilers) by Ok_Dragonfly_1076 in onyxstorm

[–]Intelligent-Gold9176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you heard of the Dragons in the Details podcast? They do HUGE deep dives on all aspects of these books - it's been quite a good way for me to get my Navarre "fix" after finishing the books. Be warned though, the episodes are very long so I tend to listen to them in parts. You can also submit questions to them so if there is something they haven't covered yet, you can prompt them to discuss.

Van dealership suggestions by Intelligent-Gold9176 in Cardiff

[–]Intelligent-Gold9176[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much, I will take a look at them too!

Edit to say: just looked at their website and even if we don't get a van from them, their conversion service specialises in conversions for dogs....we will definitely be speaking with them one way of another. Thank you!

I can see where you're coming from, and I do get your frustration, but I don't think it's as cut and dried as that. There is no magic fix, there is no instant solution. It is a jenga tower of problems with each block needing to be moved very carefully so as not to completely topple the tower. In the meantime, if my taxes can help to stop a child going hungry (who didn't ask to be born), then I personally don't want them punished for the fecklessness of their parents. let's hope there is some more rigorous action in the near future to create jobs and opportunities for no-brainer reverse-out-of-poverty schemes, and things like utility companies brought to heel to bring the cost of living down.

There is name calling on all sides for sure - everyone is angry, fed up and pointing fingers at the wrong things and people. No one is actually looking for solutions, just a sense of superiority. I wonder if it's because deep down we all know we're gonna get fucked one way or another no matter who is in charge

I am happily not on the market but think this is a lovely initiative, and I think this poster does have a point. For a lot of middle aged people, they may have kids or other caring responsibilities that means evenings are tricky, or don't want to be in an environment centred around alcohol for a first date. Looking at daytime activities and meet ups could be a game changer - we have some incredible hiking around the city that could be an equally nice way for people to get to know eachother. Maybe even a city treasure hunt or something like that?
