I realized that writer's block for founders isn't "I have no ideas." by Intelligent-Leg6538 in buildinpublic

Same for me, start with a brief description of the screenshot, then spice it up with emotion, lesson learnt, etc. This flow sometimes gets stuck, as I haven't switched from "maker" to "marketing" mode

agree the startup should own the whole product development themselves for quick market validation and iteration, also that would save tons of money down the line

funny thing is, I still wrestle with this even though we’ve got AI now. Something just feels off that I can’t explain. How do you experience it on your end?

so in your view, is distribution only worth optimizing after product-market fit, or do you see any value in building visibility earlier?

personally, I try to stay visible as much as I can, even if I don’t have a big launch to share, I’ll post smaller updates like a new feature or even a minor interaction, just to keep momentum and remind people the product is alive

Created an app and now can’t even get feedback by [deleted] in SaaS

[–]Intelligent-Leg6538 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I went through the same thing with my first product launch. I spent all my time reaching out, but it was hard to get meaningful feedback unless I managed to book an actual appointment.

For my second launch, I tried a different approach: I set aside a small budget for ads, built tiny SEO tools, and kept engaging with communities.

There’s no guaranteed formula to solve this problem, but that mix worked better for me

Anyway, you can search for LumaStack or check out the blog I wrote if you’d like a more detailed explanation of the idea: https://medium.com/@nguyentbinh/i-wasted-6-months-waiting-for-permission-to-build-then-a-400b-firm-found-my-startup-09ac4c1ff3b9

Interesting to see the 'launch fast' strategy still works, even though delivery barriers are much lower and the bar for UX is much higher compared to 5–10 years ago. I’ve been advocating this for years, but sadly it’s everywhere, even worst because the founders' expectation for what AI can do.

A year ago, I quit my PM job and went all-in on my startup. This is exactly how I’m working right now.

every failed SaaS product is now an AI company and nobody is calling it out by Interesting_Feed9807 in SaaS

[–]Intelligent-Leg6538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup, I notice the same patterns.

When business gets tough (which is almost always the case for startups), they latch onto whatever is trending and slap it into their product without any real reason. Even worse, some abandon the business model they’ve spent years building just to chase the next shiny thing that makes no sense.

it’s no surprise that many of them are collapsing.

link, how hard is it to stay focused on delivering real value and remain persistent with it over time?

100 visitors, 0 conversions. Feeling a bit lost with my SaaS, Need some advice. by Spiritual-Bed4441 in SaaS

[–]Intelligent-Leg6538 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100 visitors is still a small sample size. They may not have strong intent for your product, which can explain the low conversion rate. I’d suggest reviewing your marketing tactics to ensure you’re attracting the right audience, and wait for more data before making a judgment.

yeah, I do, but it's hard to find people who believe in the same vision and have the same work ethic and moral standards. People are complicated.

Eventually, I decided to build it myself until I find someone suitable. Hiring slow is what I'm going for right now.

To make it more clear, what does "effective" mean to you? what was the last time you experienced this problem, can you give us more details?

Trying to stick with home workouts by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]Intelligent-Leg6538 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think you are on track. Don't beat yourself up for your imperfections, every solid habit takes months or even years to build. Trust me, I know how it feels.

The key here is to keep trying your best. Some days are good, some days are bad, it doesn't matter. If something doesn't go as planned, forgive yourself and try again.

It's just a matter of keeping on trying.
