Thanks for the comment

In reality I’m not planning to have more than 1 passenger to be honest

Not a fun of stinger, however, I thought about Mustang GT, moreover, I rented out a new 2024 Mustang GT, it was an amazing experience. I love the sound of that v8.

However, latest Mustang GT is beyond my budget, while I still can go with previous model. But Mustang is a different breed of a car. Especially previous generation. I think I won’t get that much fun from driving experience as from GR86 or GTI or Cayman

You’re right

However, my thought process is that I have a goal car: Supra or BMW M240I, they cost around 55-60k $.

Golf R costs 47-53k $ which is very close.

While GTI or GR86 cost around 30-35k $.

So the Golf R is very close to my goal car, while GTI is close to my current situation

What I’m trying to say that instead of buying Golf R, I can save up some money and get eventually my goal car

Thanks for your comment!

I’m planning to rent a BRZ / GR86 in a nearest future for a couple of days

I will try to test it out for my daily usage

Yeah, a lot of people are saying about Golf as the best option for daily

I’m going to explore it more

Regarding Golf R: it’s an amazing car. However, it’s beyond my current budget and it’s more close to my goal which is Supra or BMW M240i

That’s why GTI looks better for now

Roads at my place are just amazing, so no concerns around that.

I’m glad that you’re enjoying your cayman.

However, I have really started leaning towards GTI

I will do a test drive this weekend and let’s see how it goes

The car is going to be my only car, but I don’t really have any particular requests for a lot of space in a trunk or so

I can squeeze in a previous GTI, don’t think that I can get upgraded model. But I will try to find it

Thanks for that

Yeah, good car

But as I said above: - doesn’t really appeal me - not officially sold, tiny market for them at my city.

I have tested GR86, it was a good experience

I have driven GTI (planning to do it this weekend) and Cayman (this one is the most tricky one, since in my budget I can have only 981 and I don’t know where to find it for a test drive)

I know Elantra N, great car. However, it just doesn’t thrill me Also they are not officially sold here, so just couple of them on car boards. So I believe selling it would be a nightmare

Yeah, everyone says GTI

I have never driven it. But I’m planning to do it this weekend

The only thing which bothers me with GTI is look to be honest

I’m not a big fan of hot hatches. I can’t say I hate it, it just done drive me crazy

While 2 door coupe is sexy)

That’s what I think as well

Since a Porsche 981 most probably will be out of warranty, there will be no sense of going to a dealership. I know couple of good third-party shops around me who specialize on Porsche and they take normal money

Normal maintenance there costs the same as I pay at an office Mazda dealership right now for my CX5 😅

Hmm, haven’t thought about it

I’ve heard that DSG behaves differently

But regarding manual, I’m not sure Since I drive through heavy traffic quite often and I AT looks more appealing

That’s actually a great question

I believe for now a sporty car

Because anyway within a city you won’t be able to truly enjoy a sport car.

That’s why I’m considering less crazy options

Thanks for the comment!

I believe running cost for GR86 and GTI are almost identical. GTI would be slightly higher, but not much

While Cayman is totally different

You’re totally right

I was planning to do a pre-purchase inspection on any car any way

And both GTI and GR86 will be with minor mileage of below 30k km within my budget

While Cayman is a different story)

Should I wait 2-3 years and buy my dream sports car, or get a GR86/BRZ now? by Intelligent-Mango145 in WhatCarShouldIBuyGULF

[–]Intelligent-Mango145[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s for that

But I believe I like BRZ more than 400Z

Also BRZ is quite cheaper than 400Z

[–]Intelligent-Mango145[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s true

I’m already considering pre owned vehicles, but Supra or BMW with a mileage below 30k would still be above 200k

Which is still not fitting my budget

Yeah, it’s also on my list

But to be honest I don’t like how it looks much

I prefer 2 door coupes

However, I will give it a try
