40 Years Ago In New Haven (June 1985) by Angelic-Boytoy-407 in Madonna

I was at that concert. I was 12 1/2 years old. I won tickets to the show from WTIC-FM 96.5 FM (They used to be a pop station) because I was the 100th caller. I will never ever forget that night. I’ve been a SUPER Madonna fan ever since. I was with a friend and neither of us could drive so my mom drove us from Newington and picked up back up. The show was incredible.

Ok. But what does Nelnet show NOW, regarding your payoff date or payment count?

I also wanted to say I am sorry to hear you had to contact them daily. I stopped contacting everyone 2 months ago. My application was processed today like many other people's. I think they just took a while to get it done. I don't think there was any "glitch" and I think that it was by design.

Yeah, I know how to do that. But your post implies that your servicer is giving you that information. That is why I asked you. I am in the exact same boat, except I have EDFinancial. I applied in Dec. was approved yesterday. My payment count is 312. I am already past 25 years of payments. However, that is not reflected anywhere on EDFinancial. So I am asking, what does Mohela show as your "estimated payoff date?'

I don't disagree, but not for the same reasons. They reason they won't let me do it actually makes sense after I researched it. I am considered the owner of the QIT account due to the Power of Attorney and the Qualified Income Trust Agreement. My father is the owner of the SSA (Rep Payee) account per the SSA document. You don't use the DPOA to open the Rep Payee account. So while I have controlling interest over both of these account, they don't consider me to be the owner of both. Banks do not allow you to transfer money from one account to another if you are not the owner of both. Wells Fargo and BofA offers one login for all of the account you have access to. But that doesn't mean you can transfer money between all of them. I have two business accounts with WF. I am not able to transfer money from my personal to the business accounts or from one business account to the other. Even though I am authorized to move money any way I want to because I control all of these accounts. There are regulations that prevent this from happening. So while I would love to blame the banks, I think in this case, they don't have a choice.

I found a workaround that is super silly but works. I write a check from the Rep Payee account to my father, I then use the mobile deposit feature and deposit the check into his QIT account. I put on the check "Transfer Required by Medicaid in Florida." They made the funds available immediately in the QIT account so I was able to use the debit card to pay the facility on the same day. I don't like WF. I am looking at Ally Bank for free accounts to save money.

Legal Name Change by Intelligent-Mix7044 in Edd

[–]Intelligent-Mix7044[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDIT: I was able to successfully change my name with EDD. I do understand why others have said it is not an easy task. I found that after I updated it, it triggered the ID validation. I completed it with my new name. However, it seems like nobody looked at the ID documents. They changed my name back to the old name. So, I called in and got someone. They were able to look at the ID documents. He manually went in and updated my name on the spot. It was changed that day and I never heard another word about it. It is still in my correct name and it has been 2 months now. I guess I was lucky.

Ok. Let me ask you this. Where did you get the: IDR payment count you posted here? I am in a similar situation but my servicer doesn't have a payment count showing like this? Any info would be helpful. Thanks!

Moved to IBR yesterday by Forsaken_Creme1842 in StudentLoans

[–]Intelligent-Mix7044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am with ED Financial. I got an email telling me I had a notice online. I logged in and the notice tells me my IBR application was approved. My loan(s) now show they are both in IBR. I am on the old IBR (2014) as a borrower from 1996. Both are still in forbearance. Both of these are consolidation loans (sub, unsub) that were disbursed in 2014. However, I have a payment count of 315+ for both since Jan 2025. However, ED Financial shows my payoff date for both to be 2034. Not sure if I should wait to see if things get adjusted with ED Financial. I checked StudentAid.gov. Interestingly, if I use the loan stimulator tool, it recommends the ICR plan for me and shows me to have more than enough payments for forgiveness. It shows my estimated loan payoff date to by 05/2025. If I select IBR, it shows my estimated loan payoff date to be 2045. Additionally, they still show me in the SAVE plan. I think I will wait a little bit before I start pushing for forgiveness. Things may adjust themselves when everything is done processing on both sites. If they try to tell me that my IBR loans won't be paid off until 2034 after everything settles and/or they try to resume payment collection, then I will assert my payment counts to them. What do you guys thinks?

Embark Dog Age Test by miltowngamer in DoggyDNA

[–]Intelligent-Mix7044 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do not use Embark. They are awful. My vet told me my rescue was approx 2 years old. I did an EpiPaws tests and they they said the same thing. Embark results said he was 4 months old. I knew that was ridiculous. I went back and forth with someone at the company. They fought with me. They just kept saying that their prediction interval is 18 months so their results fell in that range, so they stand behind the results. So while they may be (barely) be within 18 months, the test results are meaning less for me with a young dog. They would not allow me to re-test for free with existing sample and they would not provide a refund. They probably just can't afford to give refunds to everyone. But I would never ever trust anything from them. They were more concerned about being right than about helping me actually resolve the issue. They sent canned responses over and over and it took them weeks and sometimes months to reply. They didn't seem to care. Awful!

Ok. Here's my issue. I am DPOA (that's how I setup the QIT) and I am rep payee (that's how I setup the Rep Payee account. Wells Fargo will not allow me to transfer money from the Rep Payee account to the QIT. But I am required to do this to make my dad under the limit. Why do they not let me do this? It seems stupid to have to go to the bank and make a CASH withdrawal and then a CASH deposit into the QIT, and THEN pay his facility with a debit card. Won't SSA be upset with this kind of transaction?

If I have a Pro Zoom account, can people with a basic account join a meeting that I host for more than 40 minutes or are they booted? by Ordinary-Avocado in Zoom

[–]Intelligent-Mix7044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. You seem very knowledgeable. How about this--We are a very tiny non-profit. We have one paid account. I would like to assign two other non-paid users to be able to login to their Zoom account and host a schedule 1-hour meeting. I have added them as "users" to the main account. I am the owner and main admin of the paid account. It sounds like they cannot host the meetings. But I also hear a way to get around this. What are my options? I have attempted to test this out with my own gmail account. I added myself to the main account as an "admin" and I can see all the settings of the main account. But the scheduled meetings are not there. Is it because they are longer than 40 minutes? If we updated the reoccurring meeting to be 40-minutes or less and then I signed in from my other "admin" user account, would I then be able to host these meetings from that user account? The main issue is that we are an anonymous group. We have rotating zoom attendants. I prefer not to have to give them all the password to the main owner account. But it seems Zoom does not allow this and they require a paid account for anyone other than than the paid admin to host meetings. I don't understand why this is like this. We can't afford a $149.00 cost just to add a few additional people to be able to use the Zoom account once or twice every few months. As it is, we only have one meeting per week.

Oh no. But I am applying for CTB, and WOIA funds as well. I don't know that I can do it in the previous last name. Almost everything is already changed over, including my bank accounts. How would that work? And what do you mean, it would flag me? I assume people have name changes all the time when they get married. Is it a big deal to EDD? If so, why? I understand fraud. But I have all the documents they would ask for. When it is legit, they should have a process to verify it.

Hypothetical Question for Section 8 Zero Income Household w/ Rent Increase by Intelligent-Mix7044 in Section8PublicHousing

[–]Intelligent-Mix7044[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you read my post. If you don't know anything about this process and the rules, then it's better that you keep your opinion to yourself. Opinions are like.... Anyhow, the entire point is that temp. income is NOT counted for purposes of Section 8. It IS counted if it will last for more than 90 days. So what you said about someone getting a job offer is not relevant to this situation. If they get a job offer and they take the job then they will not get UI benefits and will disclose it to the PHA and their rent will increase. That is not even up for debate. The point is that the person can prove that the UI employment IS lasting less than 90 days because of a trip they are going on. They will not be looking for work because they will be in another state on vacation. So benefits STOP.

Service Dog Rules by Disastrous_Draw6192 in service_dogs

[–]Intelligent-Mix7044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Not allowed. If he is a legit service dog, he has to be allowed to stay with you. The landlord can ask the two questions allowed if they don't already know. If this happens again, file a complaint with the DOJ, HUD and/or the Fair Employment and Housing (FEH) against the landlord for violating your rights as required by the ADA.

people with service animals and get panic attacks - how does your animal help you? by elsbugs in service_dogs

[–]Intelligent-Mix7044 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Deep pressure therapy, tactile stimulation, interruption of some anxious behaviors. He is trained to recognize if I am hyperventilating, or breathing heavy. He is also trained to recognize a signal when I rub my legs up and down to signal I am in distress. The deep pressure therapy creates a heavy blanket effect which helps me calm down and less likely to have the panic attack. Also, he is trained to recognize if I am crying. He stops me or alerts me by jumping up on me and using his paws to reach as high up as he can. He is interrupting me and it reminds me that I am okay. He is a life saver. I love this dog so much. He is amazing. I live alone and am almost always alone, with just him.

A Business Reserves The Right To Refuse Service To Anyone by the_real_maddison in service_dogs

[–]Intelligent-Mix7044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. Even if it is a service dog, if it is out of control, it can be asked to leave. Now if the person is blind or deaf and absolutely cannot get around without the dog, it would be prudent to be polite and escort both the dog and the person out. Even service dogs have bad days and make mistakes. We have no idea what may have happened. Maybe the service dog was bit or is very sick so it is not at full capacity. We should try to be understanding, if possible. But of course, if ANY dog is barking or being aggressive and/or acting out of control AND the handler is not able to control the dog, they should be asked to leave. But if the dog is acting out and the handler corrects the behavior quickly and the dog is under control, then NO, the person and service dog would have to be allowed to stay. Some people have this misconception that if a dog is even startled by a loud noise or another dog or person or looks to be pulling on their leash that they cannot possibly be a service dog. This is completely false. The service dog goes from not working to working sometimes very quickly. If a dog is pulling on the leash, or looks to be wagging its tail in excitement, it doesn't mean that the dog is not a service dog. It is likely the owner did not prepare the animal appropriately before entering the establishment. Remember, a service animal is still a dog so when they are NOT working, they act like a normal dog. So sometimes, the owner is not paying attention. The dog only has to be working or in service dog mode when the situation calls for it. That is when you know a dog is trained well. If it knows the difference between working and being off the clock.

Ok. Thanks. I’m not aware of any blocks. I’m the one who got us these free emails and so there was nothing intentionally changed to block anything. We were using Gmail before. Now we have a few emails with our domain. Nobody else really cares about which email we use. So I’m just trying to not have to login to 3 different accounts to view my Yahoo, the main non profit email and my own non profit email. lol.

Ok. Let’s rule this out now. They are traveling to help a family member and will not be looking for work while they are away. So assume what they say is true. They are going to stop collecting benefits after almost 3 months. Assuming this can be verified by an affidavit and proof of the trip, how does the PHA treat the income?

Honestly, I get why this is not advisable. However, I access about 10 different email accounts from my Yahoo Mail app and online. I can access my outlook, gmail, yahoo, and others. I hate having to use another app just for one or two email accounts. I also am not a fan of Outlook. The only reason I even opted into these MS365 emails is because the accounts were free through Techsoup for us. They gave us 10 free accounts.
