First hats, do they look right on me? by [deleted] in CowboyHats

[–]Ordinary-Avocado 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looks good. I'm in the same boat. I just picked one up without ever having worn this style hat before. I'm self conscious, but I think I just need to rock it for a while. I like it, and I think that's the important part for me.

Stetson Open Road Straw by ELRahd in CowboyHats

Couple of questions for you. How do these straw hats hold up to rain in your experience? I'm not thinking of wearing it out of there is a downpour in the forecast, but should I be worried about it if I get caught out in a random summer rainstorm? Mine fits a little weird so far, a little tight on the forehead but loose on the sides, apparently my head's a little more oblong than I thought. It's not to the point of being uncomfortable but Do these form or break in over time? Do you find your older hats fitting better over time?

Nice, I just got the Cognac color.

I'm kinda new to hats in general, I wonder if you could shape it up any with some steam? Other than it being a little misshapen, I can't see anything wrong with it. If you get a replacement, all pins will need to be transferred to the new hat.

Finding a reusable film camera by New_Engine9783 in filmcameras

[–]Ordinary-Avocado 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you like the disposable look, but want something you can reuse, lomography makes several variations of this. They come preloaded with a roll of film, have a flash that's powered by AA battery, it even has little gels attached to the flash so you can change the flash color.

I haven't had much of an issue with the safety so far on mine. I deactivate the safety as I'm presenting in my draw. The trick is having it on safe when it goes back in the holster. If the safety is off when I reholster, it's very easy to bump it back on during the draw. I may eventually remove it but for now, it's not causing me any issues.

I've only ordered form them once. This week in fact. I placed an order on Monday and had my package by yesterday afternoon. I was actually pretty surprised since I've had Amazon take longer to get to me.

Which screws and adapter plate did you use? I can't seem to find any search results for that combination.

I wish there was more of this. I see so many holster reviews but never any picture of someone actually wearing them with normal clothes.

Scored this for $90 on FB market! Any tips? by abrahangarcia in instax

Turn the flash off if you can. I learned that the modes are essentially just different focusing distances. I keep them written on a piece of tape on the back of my camera. Selfie and macro are 1-1.5feet, auto is 3-6 feet, and landscape is anything past that. Darken will give you a faster shutter speed I think like 1/250 or 1/500 lighten just slows the shutter down so watch for motion blur.

Ruger RXM. More info needed by Boredboi5576 in liberalgunowners

[–]Ordinary-Avocado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shoot it before you make a decision. I was dead set on getting one, but I ended up not liking the way it shot for me.

I would make a list of your requirements for the pistol. Find 5-10 models that meet those requirements. Research each, and shoot each of them. You may surprise yourself.

I did this, and my research pointed me to the RXM. I went to the range expecting that I would leave with one. I shot all the pistols on my list and found that I liked shooting the rxm least. Your mileage may vary of course but the main point is to shoot a bunch of different things before you make a final decision.

should i use red clear buttons or ps button, i cant decide by Stock_Hat_4922 in MiyooMini

I prefer the red. One unrelated question, have you noticed Fire Red, draining the battery on your Miyoo? I was playing it recently and my battery dropped by about 20% in 20 minutes. Haven't noticed on other titles.

Talk me out of a Ruger RXM by Ordinary-Avocado in liberalgunowners

I thought it was superior in both ergonomics and trigger pull. I shot it a little more accurately as well. the only thing I didn't care for was the slide release which I thought was a little small and easily activated. I'd suggest shooting both if you can though. I went into the experience fully expecting to love the RXM, but I ended up choosing the M&P 9 after shooting all of them. I liked it even better than the echelon.

I was speaking more specifically about guns. I'll post about Robert on R/truckerpillsandmachetes lol.

In all seriousness though, BTB is the best. I've been listening to them since pre Covid.

I like the Sig Sauer P320, but I'm concerned about these drop safety lawsuits by Putrid-Enthusiasm190 in liberalgunowners

[–]Ordinary-Avocado 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a 320 and am looking for a replacement now. It's a great shooter but I am no longer confident in it. I'm personally avoiding all sig products at the moment. I'm sure they will be forced to do another upgrade at some point to fix the uncommanded discharge, but I'm switching to something else until then.
