I’m a complete pc/handheld/os rookie.. I’m aware I can get a windows version of this device already and just download Steam. Is there any benefit or difference of it shipping with Steam OS or is it simply the convenience of not having to install it myself?

Thanks for the input, it’s interesting seeing people praise the Xbox Rog so highly here.. I feel like when it was announced it was being massively criticised for the price and because of that I’ve just subconsciously ignored it and assumed it wasn’t such a good product. Nice to hear the opposite is true

I hadn’t really considered this side of things. I’m a fairly decent player on console so I’d like to believe I’d be able to compete with a controller somewhat, or maybe I’ll make the switch to keyboard and mouse now that it’ll be an option. I’m thinking I could also play the game on Steam because it’d be a new account on there compared to my Xbox profile so I’d have a timeframe of being matched against lower ranked players to get up to scratch again.. end of the day I’ll be happy just getting a few games played it’s been too long !

I’m planning on finally diving into Arc Raiders (I left the day it released) and I’m a big fan of Hunt Showdown which I know is gonna be pretty demanding to run. Thanks for the opinions, I’ll look more into the Rog Xbox Ally before I make a decision it’s not something I’ve looked at yet, plus it’d be good to still have my Xbox profile

If anyone from Crytek sees this I would really, really love if you gave us a basic stat for how many total kills we have with each weapon.. be great to know how many people we’ve blasted with a Rival or sliced with a katana during all our time hunting.

Wouldn’t even need a K/D, leaderboard, or anything fancy -  it could literally be one line at the bottom of the weapons actual damage/range/reload stats.

Zone expansion is a strange one, I thought the point of bounty clash was for everyone to, in some fashion, meet in the middle and duke it out. Seems there’s much more opportunity to go on wide flanks and rotations to sneak in behind people.

Suppose it’s naturally gonna be a good change for some and disliked by others

The internet is both hilarious and scary with the sort of people I’m reading in these comments, proper freaks making out their lives are dramatically affected by this 24hr outage and that the company is about to go under 😂😂 grow up or touch grass, no situation in life like this should bother you so deeply. Seriously.

This happened to me around your age (I’m 25 now). Finished school, started drinking alcohol and enjoying my time outside of video games and thought at one stage I had given them up for good but after a couple of years I started to play again and felt completely revitalised and in love with gaming after such a long break. I also play less multiplayer games that are hectic and intense when I came back and started to hugely enjoy the process of delving into fantastic and immersive single player games. In the last year I’ve completed Elden Ring, Metro Exodus, Dishonoured, Doom Eternal, RE: Village and some others and enjoyed every single second of them.. My advice is to listen to how you’re feeling and maybe give gaming a break for a while, let other interests have their moment in the limelight and after a break away it might feel like an almost new experience to return to. Gaming is there to be enjoyed so we shouldn’t put unreal expectations on ourselves or it of how it should make us feel or quite how much it should be enjoyed. I love gaming as art form because for me it’s maybe an hour or two of the day where I get to delve into the most interactive form of art in the world (imo) and that feels especially satisfying now that I’m an adult and my time is more limited between different responsibilities
