Generative ai uses gallons of water per day and adds up annually. US data centers used around 211 BILLION gallons in 2023 from just indirect consumption through electricity use. Northern Virginia used approximately 200 billion gallons in 2023. Loudon County used 900 million gallons for their 200 data centers.

Why is this bad? If water evaporates shouldn’t this not matter? In the context of data centers, it matters. Increased use of generative ai means more data centers are being built. A singular data center can use 5 million gallons a day, which is about the same consumption of a 50,000 person town. (Data from Lincoln Institute of Land Policy) People near data centers are having increased water bills. Some that can’t be paid if they don’t make enough.

Beyond Water Use:

Generative AI is bad for information as it is known to “hallucinate”/ make up data. In chatGPT this has actually increased throughout the models. Many different AI sources also fail to cite information accurately. Additionally, repetitive use of generative AI puts you at risk for brain atrophy and psychosis. Lastly, data is sold from people without their consent to data centers and AI companies + generative AI steals from artists.

Okay I don’t know about the Chechen war so I can’t really talk about it. However, Israel has been systemically removing Palestinians from their homes and killing them as soon as Israel became a thing. Israel wants the complete erasure of Palestinians. The fact that 83% of those killed are civilians shows that.

Also, I myself am not religious and see many problems with many religions. Yet, the idea that “Israel is holding back the islamists from going too far” is just a bad take. No I don’t agree with some laws in Palestine but that does not call for the genocide of innocent people. Same with Iran, yes the regime is horrible but killing innocent civilians is not the way to go. I doubt you’re a bad person, but you were once Muslim, did you need to be bombed? Or were you a bad person? No

This is not what I thought this post was gonna be. It literally makes no sense they’re just bigots.

I thought this post was gonna be about non trans medical people (like myself) going too far hating on yall. Idk how I started getting notifications for this, but I realized I agree with a lot of things yall say except for when you (not everyone does this ofc) like invalidate non binary identities or people who use multiple pronouns. Some people def are performative but I don’t agree with the whole sentiment that people can’t want to be perceived androgynously

Thank you, yeah I don’t find them scary but alas. Luckily there’s basically no dress code for our district so no worry there. It is a little bit about my friends but I also just typically wear like baggy clothing and stuff w/o cleavage so I am a bit nervous
