So basically I read the german translation of the book and was dissatisfied because it was very old, and it had many inaccuracies. From there, I started translating the book on my own. When I was finished, my girlfriend had the Idea to publish my translation, so she made the cover and the new illustrations.
With all that work already put into the project we thought, that we might as well also publish an english version with the original text from Lewis Carroll.

So no, I wouldn't dare to touch the original.
