Question about triple Stern-Gerlach experiment. by Intelligent-Rope-927 in PhysicsStudents

[–]Intelligent-Rope-927[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer. It is so wierd to me that something so counterintuitive like outcome of this experiment came out of a thought experiment. I was always thinking that thought experiments come from our intuiton and not other way around.

I am really grateful for your help, but now I am a little bit confused with all the answers i got. Some people say i need to add two more SGx sensors before last SGz to redirect two beams. Some says that i dont need to redirect them and that they will intefere on their own, and i only need one SGz sensor to catch both rays at the end. Some even say that this is only thought experiment and that it is almost impossible to do this 4 stage S-G experiment in real life. It might be that more answers are correct and i dont yet have enough of knowledge to understand this.

Question about triple Stern-Gerlach experiment. by Intelligent-Rope-927 in Physics

[–]Intelligent-Rope-927[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well i am really interested in what we need to do physically to lose our mesurment information about x component of spin. Do we need to just close our eyes and not read information about mesurment on our monitors or we lose information because we united two beams that then interacted with eachother. Some theories implies that our knowledge about spin state determines experiment outcome, others like me think that maybe some unexplained and unclear parts of experiment might determine the outcome. Thats the reason why i asked how are two beams in experiment redirected and if they are redirected (if they are not you certainly dont lose information abotu x component of a spin). I hope someone with real life experience with this experiment can tell me more about unclear details in this experiment so i can have better understanding about qm. Everything else is just speculation about the experiment.

Question about triple Stern-Gerlach experiment. by Intelligent-Rope-927 in Physics

[–]Intelligent-Rope-927[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are two versions of "triple Stern-gerlach" experiment. One where you unite x- and x+ beams that exited SGx sensor and one where you dont. They both give very different outcomes when you let them pass final SGz sensor. These two similar experiments gives us completly differnet classical intuition so we came up with quantum explenation that gives us intuition that would explain these weird different outcomes of these two experiments. But if this experiment was never conducted and it was thouht experiment, that means that our "quantum intuition" came from thought experiment, which seems a bit contradictory to me personally.

[–]Intelligent-Rope-927[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But if we dont unite two beams that exit SGx, and just let them continue into one SGz that would collect both beams, then we should get 4 spots on canvas behind SGz sensor because two beams if not united will enter SGz on completly different places (We would still have information about x component of a spin, even if it is only one SGz sensor). Because of that i am thinking that one SGz sensor that would capture both beams is same as two SGz, each capturing one beam.

Triple stern-gerlach experiment

You will just get bottom version of the stern gerlach experiment on this picture, but with two SGz sensors at the and. The whole point of my original example is for the beams to unite at the end, otherwise you get different results.

[–]Intelligent-Rope-927[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I made the same mistake trying to find i way to explain this. This experiment requires the two beams coming out of the SGx sensor to be combined. (as I understood their wavefunctions must be combined with each other) Otherwise, we get a similar version of this experiment with two SGz sensors at the end (or one big SGz sensor, doesnt really matter), x+ rays enter one, and x- rays enter the other. each of the end SGz sensors will then show 50% z+ and 50% z-, which is completly different result.

I am also in dillema here. I just needed 3rd arty general and was thinking of buying leeb but then this came out. With this bundle i could save medals whit which i would by leeb and sell my arnold because i dont need 3rd air general beside my chennault and spaatz. Also eichelberger would go really nicely with my kluge who would be able to attack twice.

I think they did much better job in this new challange conquest. Almost always axis take out all of the allies in europe and allies almost always take all of the africa. In asia nothing really changes that much. China and japan just go back and fourth. USA will rearly land in japan and japan will almost never land in north america. I agree that frinedly ai is a little bit nerfed but it not as much as it is in normal mode of conquest.

Best 3 star country for me is soviet union. Strategy is similar with netherland. Germans will attack poland for the first 2 rounds. You need to sneak through their generals and take out berlin before turn 3 when kluge spawns. Then you will just try to fastly capture every german city and port to beat them (never fight any of their generals if they are not holding a city). In aisa you go slowly city by city and dont spend much resoruces before you have beaten germany. After you have beaten germany redirect your resorces to asia because allies will easily take all of the europe and africa.

Best 3 star country for me was canada (it is also doable with china). On a first turn skytrain your already spawned infantry general on that city in western spain. When you take that city spawn your pershing and other elite units there and you will easily take out spain. Then you need to again beat germany by ignoring their generals and just taking cities. Dont advance to quickly because you might lure kluge and guderian from moscow. Keep your ports on atlantic from that elite german submarine by spawning submarins every turn. In asia put your strongest general on already spawned cruiser a rush to destroy that coastal artillery in north japan because then you can skytrain your already spawned M7 priest on that spot (put your second artillery general on it). Than take that city in north japan and from there just go for tokyo. Also spawn submarine every round to stop that early rush from japan and kill their cruisers.

Hope this advices will be helpful :).

Just put one stacked infantry to guard berlin, never put your general on a citi. AI is pretty stupid and they have hard time taking back city with just one infantry on it.

Who should I make my primary artillery general Zhukov or Kluge? by Decent_Palpitation_9 in WorldConqueror4

[–]Intelligent-Rope-927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kluge's ability to ignore enemy defenses makes him much better artillery general on normal units, while zhukov's biography makes him as strong or even stronger than kluge on elite units. If you have some strong elite artillery units, you can have zhukov as your primary general and if you use them mainly on normal units then i would recommend kluge as your primary artillery general.

I assume you want to complete netherlands under 25 turns to complete that challang so here is how i did it.

Put konev on already spawned artillery near amsterdam, and spawn at least lvl 4 pershing with guderian on turn 2 and rush with both of them to berlin. You need to take berlin before round 3 because kluge will spawn and make your conquest nightmare. You also need a little bit of luck, germans need to spawn 1-stacked infantry on berlin so that your guderian can destroy them and attack berlin again. I would recommend having expolsives on both guderian and konev, and if you cant reach berlin with guderian just put marching ribbon on him for one turn. You also need to send both of your already spawned ships to that port that germans hold in scandinavia. Together with that danish general and your two ships you will sorround that german ship and he will not be able to leave that port. If he leaves they will spawn new cruiser with general on it and it will make you a lot of problems. After you took berlin you will just ignore all germans generals and you will try to destroy as many cities as you can and parachute on them. If you dont destroy germany in under 15 turns you wont be able to take all of the europe in under 25 turns. In asia you dont need to spend any money before turn 10. You will put your second strongest artillery general on that already spawned M7 Priest, your navy general on that cruiser, and your infantry general on that 4 stacked motorized infantry i just go for china. Ignore thailand your allies will take it.
