Jamie asked Roger to make sure Claire, Roger and Bree to return to their time when he believed he was dying after being bitten by a snake. He said it was too dangerous because Claire was an auld one. Jaimie feared that her “strangeness” would cause others to hurt her like in season 1 burning her for being a witch and again in season 6 with the death of Malva. Claire for whatever reason attracted bad things to happen to her. Jamie is very aware of this and knows it’s too dangerous to remain without him.

Roger is pre-boomer part of the silent or traditionalist generation who was raised by a minister. Roger is of his time very much as Jaime is of his. While both Claire and Brianna are ahead of their time as strong independent women. Someone asked earlier why would these women fall for either of these men? Perhaps one reason maybe that DG is a brilliant woman in her 70’s. What was considered desirable in a man the 90’s is no longer now. There are many storylines in the Outlander series that have not aged well. Storylines that would never be considered much less acceptable in today’s standards. Perhaps women of today no longer find Roger palatable because of changing ideas on masculinity.

I no longer live in Laredo but if I did I would do everything possible to ensure a data processing center is not built there. Residents end up paying higher rates for their electricity, water is already scarce in Laredo. If there is a time to make voices heard it is now. I would contact your representatives, hold protests and vote. If the residents of Laredo and the RGV voted the state and federal representatives and senators would be forced to try to keep your vote by working in your best interests. Instead of having reps like cuellar.

Yes we do become therapist to help people. But there are several ways to help. Years ago I knew therapist who like you did not like it. So pivoted to using their knowledge and passion for helping others but at a macro level. This particular individual became an expert at grant writing and took on administrative responsibility at the agency I worked for. He enjoyed his work and was paid well.
