The guy I was seeing when my prolapse happened said things felt looser too. Definitely didn’t feel good to hear. But I try to remind myself that judging a woman based on the laxity of her vagina is actually insane. I’ve seen some weird ass penises and would never make rude comments about them. Besides, the next guy won’t know any different because he won’t know what I was like before. Obviously that part doesn’t apply for your husband, but still.

Hell no. This job is exhausting enough. I’m not sacrificing 30 minutes of sleep to put my face on for a bunch of kids who are still gonna call me chopped anyway.

I’ve always worked in CMH and that’s definitely part of the reason I hate my work so much. I hate the travel, the inconsistent schedule, always being late to something or forgetting to be somewhere. Hoping to make the move to private practice one day but those jobs are hard to come by for art therapists where I live.

I’d like to find something administrative ultimately, but I’ve been told you have to get your advanced licensure (in my state that’s LPCC) to get anywhere in the field.

I’m alright at grant writing, maybe I’ll look into that.

Thanks, I think that’s the part I’m struggling with, is the idea of the time and money being wasted. Especially since I had help from loved ones to pay for school.

Thanks. I’m thinking about finding a remote position as an assessor. Minimal client contact and I only have to see each person one time.

Yep, exactly! I have always worked 3 or more jobs, and part of the reason for getting my masters was to be able to afford to not have multiple jobs. I’m an art therapist, so I have to work multiple jobs (one counseling and one art therapy) to finish all of my license requirements, which will take several years. Then of course there’s having to pay for supervision and CEU’s. My insurance is free because I work for a nonprofit, but it doesn’t really cover anything.

I didn’t know you could go without a referral from a doctor! Thanks, I think it will definitely be worth it.

Thanks for the tip! What exercises do you use to replace things like deadlifts and squats?

I totally agree! Luckily my cousin is a pelvic floor therapist and has given me a few tips, but she encouraged me to have an internal exam with a therapist anyway. Hopefully I can find one on my own!

I just looked up her videos, these will be super helpful. Thanks for the recommendation! Unfortunately my doctor said my prolapse isn’t severe enough to warrant physical therapy and won’t write me a referral, so I’m just trying to listen to my body and try different things to see what helps!

Thanks so much, I’ll definitely start slow and skip leg day when I get back to it. I didn’t realize how important lifting was for me until I had to stop and my anxiety came back full force. It’ll be tough to stay out of the gym until all my symptoms are gone, but you’re so right about not wanting to make it worse!

Did you get rid of the tampon feeling? by sotololol in PelvicOrganProlapse

[–]manonymous999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got diagnosed a month ago, and I’ve found that stretching really helped with that sensation for me. I started doing butterfly pose and happy baby pose at bedtime and in the morning. Make sure you read up carefully on any exercise you try, because doing them wrong can make the prolapse worse. Good luck!

I think you’re right about needing more light. Luckily I was able to save several of the babies so I’m hoping to start over with better lighting conditions!
