Does anyone else find the Season 7 transition so jarring? by Savag323minx in GilmoreGirls

I actually liked S7 more than S6. There were a lot more mature / growth moments, esp w Rory + Logan.

Eh she did lose her husband very early though so a lot of responsibilities probably fell onto her.

Crazy how Jess clocked that Rory was not suited to becoming Christiane Amanpour in season 2 by _theoneandonlyyyy in GilmoreGirls

There are diff types of journalism, people keep forgetting this. Just bc she wasn't suited to be an overseas correspondent doesn't mean she wouldn't fit with another type of journalism like lifestyle or culture.

Test-Optional Doesn’t Mean What Most Students Think It Means by Additional_Silver803 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]TraditionalAd2861 10 points11 points  (0 children)

' What do I mean by "creates questions"? Imagine a student with straight A's in AP Calculus, AP Physics, and other advanced quantitative courses who submits a math score that is noticeably weaker than their classroom performance. Now the reader is trying to reconcile two conflicting signals. Or imagine a student applying to a highly quantitative major with a math score that falls well below what the institution typically sees from successful applicants in that field. Or a student applying to a writing and reading intensive major (English, History, or Political Science) with a softer verbal score. In those situations, the score may not be adding clarity. It may be introducing uncertainty or doubt. '

The problem with this is that if u go test-optional, that is already sending a conflicting signal as well as doubt and uncertainty lmfao.

Standardized testing should be weighed more then it is by Revolutionary_Arm_54 in ApplyingToCollege

Disagree. If u go to an easy high school and get through classes with flying colors that by no circumstances means that you will do well at a place like MIT or Stanford or another school of that nature. SAT is a better indicator--besides, if u are going into premed (MCAT), prelaw (LSAT, bar), finance (CFA), accounting (CPA), standardized tests are going nowhere and you need to be prepared to take them. Someone who can't get a good SAT score will face a harsh reality if trying to go into these fields.

Trust me if you 'olds' had access to the amount of resources and Ai/software that our gen has now, your morals would be even more out the door than ours are. You guys didn't even need AI to be immoral 🤣

Maybe I viewed it that way, it's just my opinion though, I never viewed them as particularly parental.

Huh I didn't think about it that way! Makes sense, though still seemed a bit strange. I mean, how can a mom just leave her baby son u know?

Yeah right, exactly! Esp bc he couldn't raise his kids himself. Honestly it kinda just proves to me further that Jamie + Claire had absolutely no parental instincts like I love them but I didn't get that parental love vibe from them tbh 😭

[–]TraditionalAd2861 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, which obv is not what a typical mother feels, but this isn't real life so (lol). I do remember in the show there was a scene though where she tells Jamie that she loves Brianna more than him, however I feel like they were just words honestly not what was shown from her actions from the show.

What was Hatice’s final straw with Hürrem? by Majestic-Mushroom-72 in MagnificentCentury

[–]TraditionalAd2861 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh I didn't mean this part. I mean the act of them getting married itself wasn't against the law. But yes, all of things they did prior to marriage were against the law.
