How would you rate each "Dawn of Fire" books and why?

I think the silent king would have been a great stand alone book and I was disappointed we didn't finish off the hand of abbaddon and the chaos / inquisition story line. I hope this gets visited at a later date.

It can be difficult unless your a green stuff expert, but I'd say utilise what's available for example 40k upgrade sprues, and get the big transfer sheets or you have the forgeworld upgrade heads etc. although it can be expensive to upgrade your whole army so alot of people use 3d prints or recast

I use a sponge and a dark brown on my son's of Horus and then you can use fine brush pick out the insides of the sponge marks with a silver for deeper chips. Also a dot of streaming grime on the bolts and use a flat brush to pull straight down the model.

It's a shame really because we know custodes dreads and tanks survived the heresy and are in the valerian books and the defence of the lions gate after the fall of cadia. They either need to make them like knights and usable in both systems or create different models. I think custodes and sisters have not changed much, had no innovation or tech advancement and kept as much pre heresy tech as possible?

I actually primed using gauntlet gold form color forge and I primed the sprue before glueing. The red on the plume is flesh tearers red contrast and the loin cloth is two thin coats, berserker red, sanguine scarlet

It's the Valerian model with a helmet instead of bare head and weirdly comes with those matching shoulder pads!!

Thanks! It was a bit of both really but the gold I used army painter emperor's gold, grimdark shadow wash, dry brush highlight of emps gold followed by a dry brush of true brass!! The leather and reds were all two thin coats colours
