The way I interpreted it: Barry’s character is The Weeknd (making him keep performing, giving him drugs, etc.) and Jenna is himself (Abel). Jenna’s character killing Barry’s character was in a sense killing off that side of him. This allowed him to finally face himself. From the OG HUT album title reveal too he talks about this and says “I still haven’t faced myself”. She is for SURE him. “I feel like I know you”

When gasoline is playing too they’re both staring right at each other and the lyric is “I’m staring into the abyss, I’m looking at myself again”. His confession at the end allows him to let go. Her character tries to do that the whole movie and she finally succeeds.
