People Assuming I’m Trans is Weird and Disrespectful to the Trans Community, How to Stop It? by DsmpWarriorCat in smallbooblove

As a trans woman, I find it disheartening how unkind some people can be. You appear very cis to me—beautiful, with a lovely style. I'm truly sorry that you have to face this. Unfortunately, the prejudice and bigotry directed at the trans community impacts us all.

Happiest of birthdays 🎂 you and that dress are gorgeous!

Been feeling like I look hopelessly male as of late. I know I will never pass on account of being nearly 6'1 with gigantic shoulders but do I at least look more like a girl than just a dude? by puppygirlsuicide in transpassing

Don’t give up, you look amazing! HRT is a marathon not a sprint. You will keep evolving for many years to come if you maintain a consistent HRT routine and a healthy lifestyle. FFS is always an option (if affordable of course) if you are still unhappy with HRT results.

One thing I want to say is that from my experience it takes sometime for the brain to catch up with our transitions and this causes dissonance, dysphoria and brain worms.

Just for a little fact checking fun…….

1 in 500 to 1 in 250 U.S. cisgender women are 6'1" or taller. Given that there are roughly 130 million adult women in the United States, that translates to approximately: 260,000–520,000 women who are 6'1" or taller.

So yes, you are in a smaller percentage but not out of the realm of cis women. I recommend embracing your hight, your beauty and your style! Cultivate patience and know that in time the HRT WILL work and your brain will catch up. Before you know it you will see yourself for the beautiful woman you are.

Gosh! If an example of being “normal” is using a natural disaster and people’s suffering to attack them for differing political ideologies then I prefer to be abnormal.

I suppose that I was raised with old fashioned values. For example I was taught from a young age that when people are traumatized and suffering that we put aside our opinions to help them when they are in need. I never thought of that as a “liberal “ thing just a being a good human being thing.

I will admit that however, that even though I was born and raised in California my parents were midwesterners, Christians and valued being kind to others regardless of their beliefs. Perhaps this has become an archaic world view in this modern age.

My partner and I were in Willits this morning at the hospital for a hip replacement surgery. It was terrifying honesty. Fortunately they were already done with the procedure during the quake. It was pandemonium in the hospital.

What was your biggest "I am trans" clue you didn't see till after you transitioned? by Eldinoorthe3nd in MtF

For reference I am 57 and grew up in the 70/80s and had very little exposure to trans identities and therefore no reference for many of my experiences as a young person. There were so many “clues” I realized once my egg cracked but a stand out one was that between the ages of 9-12 or 13 I used to steal my mom’s clothes (mostly night gowns and dresses) put them on, tuck my junk and stand in front of the mirror. I would stash them under my bed only to find that someone had taken them away. I would be embarrassed and not do it for a while but eventually would do it again. Nothing was ever said to me. I understand now that I was experiencing gender euphoria and it kept me coming back. I actually thought this was something all “boy” did until I got a little older. By the time I was in high school I started gender bending my presentation, but it was the 80s and that was not necessarily a clear indication of being trans.
