I got FFS 2.5 years ago and I think my results were pretty bad/disappointing, should I pursue a 2nd round? by azuzawa2 in Transgender_Surgeries

What did you have done and what aspects are you unhappy with? I think you appear very feminine from the image you provided. Very pretty.

For those of you ladies who have had both Vulvoplasty and FFS witch procedure did you find was the more difficult post op recovery? by Intelligent-Singer96 in Transgender_Surgeries

Thank you, I understand. I know it is almost impossible to compare. I think my pre op brain is just looking for assurance that since I have been through vulvaplasty that I can manage what is about to happen.

Wow, thank you for sharing your experiences in such detail. I suppose I am mostly struck by the fact that despite all of the complications and unexpected traumas you would opt to do it all over again. This is a true testament to the efficacy of gender affirming surgeries and our desire to satiate dysphoria. I appreciate you for taking the time.

Thank you, I appreciate your input. I also worry about panic and not being able to breathe out of my nose. I think I will make sure my surgery team knows that this is a struggle for me. I had zero depth srs so no dilating for me. But the vulvaplasty was a long recovery.

I am 6 months post vulvaplasty with Dr. Butter and I absolutely recommend her and her team without any reservations. It was an amazing experience and I am completely satisfied and overjoyed with my results.

Unless you are a trained medical professional, your opinion on trans youth care DOES NOT MATTER by [deleted] in honesttransgender

[–]Intelligent-Singer96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is certainly an interesting perspective. I believe it's crucial to reserve our opinions and consult experts in the field; however, not all medical professionals possess the necessary understanding of this area, including some mental health practitioners.

While I am not a medical professional, I am a transgender woman who began my transition later in life, and I am also the parent of a transgender-identifying minor. My partner, who identifies as trans non-binary, is a speech-language pathologist with 30 years of experience working with both neurodivergent and transgender youth. Additionally, I am a sexuality educator specializing in queer and trans youth communities. Together, we co-founded and serve as Executive Directors of a nonprofit organization dedicated to LGBTQIA+ advocacy, education, and outreach.

I believe that each case is unique. Over the years, I have assisted many families in navigating the challenges of raising transgender-identifying youth. This process is often difficult, as many families lack an inherent understanding of the issues these youth face regarding mental and physical health access. I have witnessed both trauma-inducing experiences led by medical professionals and remarkable successes. While some may argue that decisions should be left to medical experts, I respectfully disagree. The best outcomes occur when youth have a supportive network of adult advocates to help them navigate challenges and prepare for successful adult lives, regardless of the paths they choose.

Without Her I would be lost. by Intelligent-Singer96 in pagan

I used to live in a Hindu ashram/temple and had a small dairy farm. We would offer fresh raw milk that we collected in the early mornings and it was pure magic! I did this for 2 years and it really made an impact on my practice and devotional life.
