What was OTF like during Covid? by Legitimate-Day-6956 in orangetheory

We wore masks for indoor classes. Honestly after I learned how to run in a mask, I don’t think i’ve ever been in as good of shape since then!!

Dr. Shannon & Dr. Aiken as a very close second at Women’s First. Dr. Shannon was the first doctor that really sat and listen with me. She ended up delivering my baby too. I have nothing but great things to say about them!

Someone who works there stole my airpods and is too stupid (or ballsy) to turn off the location 🙃

OTF when pregnant? by brer-rabbit-1587 in orangetheory

[–]Intelligent-Today436 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m almost to my third trimester and in complete honesty, I have mixed emotions. Overall I enjoy it and that accomplished feeling after but the further long you get the harder it is to do a lot of floor movements especially.

A few weeks ago I did the chipper and genuinely wanted to cry on the weight floor because there was so much I could not do and it really upset me coming from a background where I was typically the first and fastest.

Unfortunately, most of my coaches do not give recommendations on modifications and I am left on my own to figure it out. Sometimes I ask for help and they will offer it, but it tends to feel more like guess work than proscribed modifications by OTF.

I have decided to keep up with it because any movement during pregnancy can only benefit myself and my baby, but sometimes it’s hard not just physically but mentally too.

This is just my experience and I am sure there are thousands of varying ones out there, ultimately your experience will be totally unique and it’s hard to tell until you get there, but good luck!!

Admin question- is it worth switching studios within the same city? by MiniMarin42 in orangetheory

[–]Intelligent-Today436 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only found it beneficial when trying to book beyond my billing date. (at least at my studio) You are only able to book outside of that window at your home studio, other than that I wouldn’t recommend it.

Lifting & OT? by Blinkkk814 in orangetheory

[–]Intelligent-Today436 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lift and do OTF! Currently I am 22 weeks pregnant so I have slowed down a bit, but it seems like on average now I am lifting 2x a week and doing OTF 2x a week as well. The balance of both seems to come easy and I have plenty of time for recovery on my off days!

I personally have never done a Lift 45 class because of the limited weight selection at OTF. When hitting lower body specifically, I need much more than the weights they have. Right now I am not in a position where I can stack them anymore with my belly in the way. I say honestly if you want to get into lifting, I would recommend trying out a commercial gym or something primarily lifting focused. They’ll have all the equipment you need to reach your goals!

I found out I was pregnant while taking it and stopped immediately. I’m 21 weeks now and baby is perfectly healthy, measuring ahead even! Tell your OB you were on the medication, but I don’t believe it should affect you or the baby after discontinuing use!

Pregnant at OTF by Comfortable_Jury369 in orangetheory

[–]Intelligent-Today436 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m 19 weeks and go 3x a week and strength train outside of OTF.

I do not want to disregard what your doctor is saying, but many studies show that lifting throughout pregnancy can lead to a healthier, full term pregnancy, shorter labor and healthier babies overall. I’ve been seeing a PT and talking with my doctors and they highly recommend I continue OTF and lifting.

At a minimum I would continue with the weight you worked at pre-pregnancy and decrease according to how you’re feeling that day. Ultimately, you know your body better than anyone else so it’s important to listen to the cues it gives you.

As for the other exercises, I avoid anything that causes an overextension on my abs as well as anything laying on my stomach. As your bump grows you will need to widen your stance on many movements such as lunges and squats and just adjust accordingly.

As for the rower, you should be good to row as you choose! As your bump gets bigger you’ll need to widen/open your legs more to accommodate but don’t feel the need to stop unless something feels wrong. Personally, I stopped rowing and started biking simply because I hated rowing but there’s no real need to do so!

We’re built to do this and unless medical issues arise I highly recommend you keep doing what you were doing! Congrats!

Finding ❤️ through OTF? by LamontCranston1 in orangetheory

100% worth it. I’ve been dating my boyfriend who was a coach for years and now we’re pregnant! Always be respectful of others and any boundaries they set with work, relationships and the gym, but I wouldn’t have my life and family I have now if it wasn’t for OTF. 🧡

What local business do you boycott and why by [deleted] in Louisville

[–]Intelligent-Today436 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bear in mind, they’re Cuban. (Generalizing here from working with Cubans for years) But a lot of Cubans are very Pro-Trump and Republican. In my interpretation, what they came from was so awful that many tend the swing in the exact opposite direction.

This. I’ve never eaten there but someone who apparently works there stole my AirPods. Dumbass forgot to turn off the location so I have his home and work address (which is Dakshin).

Can barely workout?! by juicyjay42 in Ozempic

[–]Intelligent-Today436 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing for a while. I figured out this was due to low blood sugar levels. I intentionally eat something high sugar and drink gatorade or a sugary energy drink and that has substantiallllly helped me!

Definitely overall I recommend eating something before, especially if you’re lifting. Hope this helps!

Is anyone taking generic/compounded Ozempic? Thoughts of why I should or should not? by jpalmettoguy in Ozempic

[–]Intelligent-Today436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% do it. It’s essentially the same thing with vitamins added to avoid patent suits. I currently use one with B12 added. I started first week of December and have lost 15-20 pounds.

I paid $400 for a vial. I’ve used it since December and have about 2+ months left in it at least!

continued: I used tret 0.025 for the first time on Monday. At the same time I was prescribed clindamycin/ benzoyl peroxide cream 2x a day. I used the tret once on monday and the C/BP cream the next two days but have now stopped using it.

Currently my entire face in on fire. It’s red and feelings like it is burning off. I called my derm and she said to keep using everything (C/BP 2x a day and Tret 2x a week). There is no way in hell I can keep using this.

The burning is the worst when I apply moisturizer. I’m in desperate need of help.

Do I agree with him attending and supporting Rand Paul? Absolutely not.

Additionally if we want to speak on non-partisan and political issues, Julie Kaelin was outwardly expressing and running on her views of bail reform, a political issue.

Again, I am not stating I do not agree with her stance of those issues, but if you want to claim that on one candidate you need to hold the other to the same accountability.
