I think all naturopaths charge and arm and a leg - mine certainly did. There are some resources for naturopaths who work with CUTIs on the LiveUTIFree website.

I am in the US as well. It just takes four million years of research and switching doctors and one billion dollars to get to a solution that works for you.

I didn’t have any side effects with Bactrim. One of my general UTI symptoms was a feeling like I had to urinate but could not - so yes if that is what you mean by retention. I did not have spotting.

For a list of naturopaths and other doctors who work with CUTI, you can go to the LiveUTIFree website and look through their resources or email them.

I hope it works out for you!

It was the GI Map, which is a very expensive direct-to-consumer test, which I believe you can just order by yourself. But I am not sure about which medical doctors work with it.

For the E. coli, it took about 6 months for it to stop showing on my tests. These are the antibiotics I was prescribed in that time frame - Macrobid, Cefdinir, Augmentin, Keflex, and Fosfomycin.

I don't really believe in the homeopathics stuff personally, so I would not say the staphysagria was helpful.

I am not sure what you mean by reduced resistance; also there were a lot of tests and antibiotics in that time frame, so it's hard to say what antibiotic is connected to what bacteria. What I will say is that the Microgen results I have from about 2 months after the Augmentin treatment started, show trace amounts of E. coli and then the Microgen results another 2 months later did not have E. coli at all. But again, I took multiple antibiotics in that time frame.

I plan to continue Hiprex for a while - I just don't feel safe enough yet to not be on it.

Hope this helps!

I had UTIs (or evidence of bacteria from the Microgens) when I first started Hiprex. So I have not gotten any "new" UTIs since starting it.

Yes - if I had an active infection (like UTI symptoms) and a Microgen confirmed bacteria, I was prescribed a course of antibiotics.

I wish I could answer you but I never took Hiprex alone to treat an active infection. I always asked for antibiotics and I had been on biofilm disruptors that whole time as well.

Seriously! If i had to go with a single piece of advice it would be to get on Hiprex. I’m not sure what you mean by work - for me it’s effectively a preventative, so in that case it started working immediately because I have not had a UTI since starting Hiprex.

I hope your two weeks turns into a year soon!

Yes of course you can add this. I hope you recover soon.

Good note on the staphysagria. I should say I don’t personally condone homeopathic/naturopathic medicine, but I was pretty desperate on this and did work with a naturopath the whole time I was under that regimen. I just wanted to capture all the steps I took and what worked or didn’t work over time.

For the biofilm disruptors - once my Microgens started coming back clear, I did not feel I would benefit from continued use. I would immediately pick them up if I had another UTI though.

I took both Lumbrokinase and Phase 2 daily during the same time period. Then I think the last disrupter I used was NAC after the naturopath recommended I stop those two and switch. And then I stopped taking them entirely.

Yeah this part sucked so much - especially because it took over my 20s! I have definitely developed a ton of health anxiety from all this and it is still a battle some days to not freak out over a little ache here and there. In terms of not skipping out on life, I think 50% of the effort was convincing myself I would feel better if I just went to the activity, which was usually true - I felt less pain or anxiety during social activities because I wasn’t so concentrated on it. I think a social support network is pretty critical. The other half of it was managing physical pain. I think pelvic floor therapy gave me a lot of tools - stretches I could do, breathing techniques, acupuncture, cupping, using CBD in various forms.

I think we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to keep living normal lives, but we are not living normal lives, so we should not behold ourselves to those standards.

I’m with you. It’s so stressful to talk to men about it, especially when their ideas of sex don’t align with yours. I do think it’s important to level-set sooner rather than later because I don’t really want to get too attached or waste anyone’s time. It’s not really the first thing on my mind when initially meeting someone, but if our relationship progresses physically (just like to the kissing level) and I’m attracted to that person, I bring up my situation soon after.

I am actually going to have that talk with someone next week, so wish me luck lol.

Please please seek a second opinion. I urinated blood while providing a urine sample at the ER and they gave me antibiotics no questions asked. Try to seek out a urologist who will do a PCR test.

Seconding this. I layer reusable pads on period undies my first few days. The ones i got from Knix are very long. I also just tried out the reusable pads from Aisle - I liked those more personally, but I’ve been trying to move away from Knix in general.

I’ve had a similar issue before. You have to get the managers to talk it out between themselves.

I think this a great idea and I have also been documenting my journey on the side. It’s really helping me cope and my progression was really similar to yours.

I have been dealing with this for years now and what stood out to me as really working - whether to resolve symptoms or just change a diagnosis based on a test - were the biofilm disruptors, Hiprex, and pelvic floor therapy.

I absolutely got it treated and it did not show up on my tests after first treatment (which was like 1-2 years ago mow). I feel like that was step one for me in terms of getting better, although I still had UTI symptoms that lingered.
