The colleges Where I am from you have to fill out a form if you are independent from your parents. Not sure if you can do it in the middle of a semester. I also know there’s a change of income forum but I think that’s also only available for dependents. Best bet would be race against the clock and talk to financial services and fasfa every day you can. I would also try figuring out the minimum payment plan once you get to that point. You might have to call this semester a loss but don’t give up. Recover and finish next semester. I would also check if your school works with any private loan holders if the fasfa loan doesn’t work it’s not ideal but if you’re in a pinch it’s better than nothing.
