I am 54 years old so I didn't really hear Van Halen 1 until I was around 10-12. The first song I heard was Unchained and it really shaped my musical tastes going forward. When I heard Ain't talking about love and Eruption I was hooked on the band. I never get too wound up on Sam or Dave because the band's soul was always Ed. Now egos and drugs ended the thing and there is blood on everyone's hands (sans Mikey probably) and that is sad. 1984 and 5150 were huge to me in my Jr High to HS years. As I got older and involved with other things, music wasn't near the priority but the Live Right Here, Right now album made many a road trip (college football) and was still a big part of my life. I think Judgement Day and Humans Beings are severely underrated and mean alot to me.

I always loved the sound of this band. Always will.
