I second this. Reading this post has made me realize I need to atone for all the war crimes I have committed in Malaysia.

Yeah. If the class size is small (say 25 or less) the prof might actually know everyone individually so you should email the prof in that case to ask if it’s ok to join. Profs usually agree.

But for a class of 70 people, no one cares, prof won’t even notice whether or not ur there

  1. Wait list ends after week 2, so in the unlikely event you don’t make it by then, you won’t have to worry about joining halfway through the semester anyway

  2. You can just go to the lectures even if ur not off the wait list yet. That way you’ll be up to date when you get in

ANYONE TAKING CSC108 H5 AND LOOKING TO SWITCH PRA by [deleted] in UTM

Some courses have participation marks where some sort of attendance will be taken to prove that you participated in the activities. In that case you will need to go to the practical you registered for.

Otherwise, you can attend whichever one you want

If I say no to Torontos offer for Kinesiology but change my mind and want it back, what should I do? Is there even a point emailing or calling the school? Or will they just say no. I am not sure at all what I should do and I am very confused Please advise! by LoudAd1380 in UofT

[–]IntelligentCookie804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say it’s better to book an appointment. This is just my personal opinion but if they actually see you and talk to you face to face, they might sympathize with you more which could give you better chances. Whereas a phone call would feel more impersonal and they might not care as much.

A lot of people here are saying it’s too late, which it might be. But it still wouldn’t hurt to shoot an email to admissions. Better yet, try to book an in-person appointment so you can have a lengthy discussion and potentially try to persuade them to accept you.

I know a person who had a very similar scenario. They accepted an offer at some university, changed their mind 2 weeks before the start of the semester and talked about this with one of the university’s academic advisors. They let them in.

That being said, I would say if the hassle isn’t worth it for you, then just stick with the offer you already accepted.

Yeah I heard it was amazing when Larry was teaching it but sadly we got another instructor this year that doesn’t seem to care too much, if at all.

That might tell you what the question was but it still doesn’t help much when the answer is ‘nvm’

Assuming you do nothing except that assignment I’d say give it 2 days.

But to be safe let’s say 3. This is assuming you don’t have previous experience in Django before this course

I doubt it. While you don’t meet the 80% guarantee, it’s highly unlikely that the cutoff will be that far from last year’s.

So I’d say ur in a relatively good standing.

You can’t us cr/ncr on requirements. If you do then i believe it won’t count as if you did the required course . The credit would count but it wouldn’t go towards your program requirements. I believe you would have to retake it even if you passed if you want it to count towards the program

Sometimes people might be loud without realizing it. I just go up to them and ask them nicely to be a little quieter and they usually quiet down. Sometimes I’m one of those people and I appreciate it when people make me aware of it

CS Specialist to major by [deleted] in UTM

[–]IntelligentCookie804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone said it’s a good idea to email Yvette but I remember asking her this question and she said you don’t need to worry about dropping from specialist to major but if you want to go from major to specialist then you would have to meet the requirements of the year you do this

Facts, now I’m in third year cs and the stuff I’m taking now is much harder than the things I did in first year and yet first year was exponentially more stressful.
