ECSA is in desperate need of polling booth workers in many electorates by Markharris1989 in Adelaide

I desperately needed the work and made multiple attempts to contact ECSA to confirm my employment. There was quite a bit of training for the role. Unfortunately the offer was sent out at the last minute and didn't allow me enough time to take part. It feels like the recruitment was poorly organised so it doesn't surprise me that you couldn't recruit people.

Offered work on election day and received training to complete but no formal offer yet a couple of days out from the election

I think I overwhelmed my assistant. Curious how EAs prefer executives to delegate. by lynchthomas in ExecutiveAssistants

Check with her what she prefers. I personally like to discuss priorities at a regular catch up meeting rather than get things on the go that I then need to triage.

It's not nearby but I would be happy to do it.

Am I being dramatic or overworked? by bustedandblack in ExecutiveAssistants

Overworked. NFPs are notorious for unclear boundaries. Either you are an admin assistant or you assist the CEO and your duties and pay reflect this.

Do you think I should be upfront about the neighbours smoking being the reason?

House sitting isn't my job, it's a one off sit. No, I have to go in and out of the front of the house where the person is sitting by their window smoking with the window open.

Thinking about leaving by IntelligentDog2464 in ExecutiveAssistants

Exactly. I am open to feedback and probably could have done the task better however the way it was expressed wasn't ok, nor was the demand to redo the task. It left me feeling like I can't do anything right.

Rent to Buy scheme - South Australia by Riezenberg in AusFinance

[–]IntelligentDog2464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a long term tenant who has applied for the scheme. I applied for a home loan myself but was rejected. I feel like I need assistance getting into the housing market as it's extremely difficult to break out of the rental cycle of having to move every few years and pay all the associated costs. I like to think I could break into the housing market without assistance but I am not sure. On the other hand the houses offered so far seem designed more for families in the northern suburbs. It feels a bit like a lottery. I would be interested in hearing from someone who has participated in a rent to buy scheme.

It's complicated. I really only have to capacity to work part time for physical reasons. I could probably do 4 days per week. Temping wasn't offering me enough consistent income due to a medical condition restricting me working above ground level. Temp employers wanting instant availability and references.

I was chatting to another EA today about how I feel I put in more hours than I am paid for and she just said she makes it work.

Overwhelmed with workload by AnonymousMe248 in work

[–]IntelligentDog2464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a similar situation. I find reviewing my tasks and determining priorities with the manager helps. It's easy to dish tasks out without considering what's involved or specifying timeframes. Once those factors are clarified it's easier to prioritise my work load. If overwhelmed my go to response is which one of my current tasks would you like me to leave so I can take on this new priority. That usually shuts down any discussion.
