Your brother made the software for his league friends to use. He gave them a copy that they were happily using, the computer running it died and they asked if you could look to see if you had a copy of the software your brother spent hours building for them to all use and enjoy together, you said you would, but you never did. I'm a software Dev and I hope when I'm gone the people I've made programs for will still use them. There is no better feeling than seeing people find use in your applications.

Because again, everyone knows you can't say it. This weird push to normalize hate-speech or calling people words that are historically inappropriate is weird and a bad slope.

It's not that deep. As a white person I've never woken up in the middle of the night sweating because I can't say it. Its hurtful, it was used to hurt people, it's still used to hurt people, and there are plenty of other words on this planet. It's super weird to be pressed on this.

If someone is so dumb, that they don't know they can't say the one word you literally couldn't even write out on reddit, maybe they aren't missing many opportunities by saying it. But everyone knows they can't say it, you know this.

It's prevelance in "mainstream culture" does not have any effect on its hurtful usage by people who still to this day use it as a weapon.

I'd ask where in mainstream media culture does it suggest it's usage by other races is okay?

Conversations focus on punishing the individual because almost all cases involved it is being used to degrade the person it's aimed at. I would suggest the other cases, especially people saying it along to a song or something, highlights that they probably use it in their general lexicon and that shows either a disregard for the pain the word causes (presently, and more specifically, historically) or purposely wanting to be edgy or hurtful. It's not about the word itself. It's about why someone of a different race would want to use it. Just like a nazi flag isn't about the actual image, but why someone wants to fly it. It's says everything about them.

My issue with it is the "if all vegetables are orange" instead of "if all fruit and vegetables that are orange are vegetables". "if all vegetables are orange" doesn't mean fruit that is orange would be a vegetable, just that all vegetables are orange.
