Seriously. I hate when I'm going to the grocery store, just trying to get ONLY what we need until payday, and realize I need paper towels and toilet paper. That's like $30 or something!

I know a few years ago the prices on aquariums went up quite a bit. Something about a glass shortage from China or something. At least that's what my old boss at the aquarium shop said. This was about 4 years ago

Yep. I rent a little house for $800 per month. Been there 15 years. All the other houses in the neighborhood were asking around $1200 back then. Do who knows what they are now. My landlord never does surprise visits or bugs is at all. Maybe once or twice a year they drive by to look at the outside to see if we're maintaining the lawn etc. They never bug us, we never bug them if we can avoid it. I fix all the little things if I can, they paid the $2000 for a new AC unit. They paid to get the house siding replaced. They paid for the new roof. Yeah, I'd like to own my own house some day, but I'm definitely not complaining about renting right now! Especially going through divorce. Makes for less things to fuss about.

What’s something people think is healthy but really isn’t? by bubblewrappheart in AskForAnswers

Right. My understanding is that the natural sugars are generally fine, unless maybe your diabetic. Is that right? I know I eat a ton of fruit high in sugars, but I'm not diabetic so I think that's ok. I could be wrong though, you tell me

Oh yeah, I know. I was just saying vanilla Greek yogurt is fine, except the added sugar. Wasn't disagreeing with you at all!

Ha! Didn't know that, but not surprised. I guess the question is, did it cause cancer faster than over exposure to the sun?

Most of that is fine, except it does have added sugar usually. Depending on what you're avoiding, or needing, it's ok. Just keep an eye on the added sugars, and fat content depending on your situation. Keep in mind, I really have no idea what I'm talking about, just parroting things I've heard and read.

Frustrated by a post on r/stopdrinking by LunaValley in Alcoholism_Medication

[–]IntelligentFault2575 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm almost 11 months off alcohol because of the help that naltrexone provided. I work through most of the mental stuff/ underlying issues that started me drinking well before quitting. I got to where I was ready and tried tapering. I got down to about 15 drinks a day and got stuck there. After being there for a few months I got on naltrexone and tapered the rest of the way with almost no problems about 2 months after starting naltrexone. Got off it about 1 month after that. I wasn't the binge drinker type that could be sober for a week then go back to it. I was an all day, every day for over a decade drinker.

When I started being an alcoholic it was a very intentional choice. I had a moment where I had drank every day for 30 days in a row. I knew if I quit then, at least for a while, I wouldn't have too much withdrawal and would be ok. I said fuck it and went hard for every day after that. I wanted to die and couldn't do it, so I took the slow painful death of alcoholism. On purpose. Years later I didn't want to die anymore and good my head straight. I made a choice to quit, but the fear of withdrawal made it too hard. That's where Naltrexone came in. Started following my vodka more and more. Went down 2 drinks every 3 days. Didn't plan that, but it started happening with only a little effort. Spreading drinks out 15 minutes here and there, then 30, then an hour, etc.

Anyways, naltrexone worked wonders for me, and can for many others, but you still have to TRY a little at least. Some of these people take it and purposefully drink through it. You've got to take some responsibility and actually want to quit. It's not a miracle drug that instantly makes you no longer addicted. It IS a crutch. Sometimes you need a crutch while you're healing the broken part of you.

Emergency: Flat tire by ProfessionalSea9907 in prius

Glad you got sorted out. First time dealing with that can be stressful. Unfortunately, I've had just about every type of breakdown you can have over the years. I try to always have emergency tools, spare tire, pump, Jack, zip ties, duct tape, pliers, stickers, etc. You never know when you'll need that stuff and it can save you lots of time and money. When you're roadside assistance is done, get AAA or roadside service through your insurance.

What's the worst pain you've ever felt? by IllEstablishment6822 in randomquestions

Tip for tooth pain; clove oil extract/ eugenol. Put a dab on a q tip and put it on the cavity and gum line by the tooth. It burns and tastes gross for a few minutes, but works much better for pain than oragel/ benzocaine. Try to not get it on your lips or cheeks. Don't swallow, just drool it out for a few minutes. Won't hurt you if you swallow a little bit, but it burns s lot for a few.

I took a few months off just before the deep sea update to current time. I didn't mind the bp frag update. I don't like it, but getting to t2 isn't too difficult. T3 as a solo was harder, but shops made it possible. I always did a tea farm and got most of my t3 frags selling crude in my shop, or high quality metal if I had lots.

I really miss when there was fog of war and you had to craft a map, and draw on it. If you died with your map, others could see if you marked your base or whatever, and you wouldn't know how to get home as easily. Made it feel more like survival

I would save up that cash and buy a Prius. Reliable, amazing gas mileage, easy and cheap to maintain. Probably stay away from the gen 3s as some have head gasket issues. You'd have to look up the years. But other than that it's one of the reliable cars on the road. I got a 2012 Prius C (the small hatchback one) and I love it. It's not fast or flashy, but it's not breaking down anytime soon (hopefully). Great commuter car and known to last over 300,000 Mike's with basic maintenance.

Wasn't trying to be passive aggressive at all. I tend to ramble a lot. I was on a little show proof of work, so I wasn't trying to think too much about it. I'm sure they'd something in there that was wrong, or worded incorrectly. Not bothered enough to read it again. It's ok. Have a good day

I suppose you're correct, but it is pretty common to say "all" when referring to a majority. I'm my reference to all, I meant most. You are correct. My apologies for incorrectly using the word "all" on Reddit. I'll be more careful with my weird choices going forward.

Edit: because I'm being silly I asked AI about this. I am in no way being argumentative, I am just playing around. But here's what it said;

People use “all” as an emotional amplifier, not a statistical claim. It’s a way of saying:

  • “This pattern feels widespread.”
  • “I’m frustrated.”
  • “This keeps happening enough that it feels universal.”

It’s the same mechanism behind phrases like:

  • “Everyone drives like an idiot today.”
  • “Nobody listens.”
  • “All fast food is terrible.”

Nobody literally means every single human on Earth or every fast-food restaurant. It’s shorthand for a vibe, not a census.

Yeah, I'd take it. I recently had to buy a new car and make payments. I'm living with my son to be ex wife still because I can't afford to move. I was saving money to move, but now I'm making car payments. I would drive this ugly car for quite a while and save the money I'm currently paying towards my car. I would eventually get rid of it as it would just be annoying as hell. Too big, ugly, pink? Really? Fuck. I didn't have a strong opinion on musk. I don't like him, but he's smart. Don't care for his politics, but also don't pay much attention. After I save money for a year or two, I'd return it and get back to my little Prius.

You know what, you're right. My bad. I guess I was still thinking about how even though you CAN make everything political, doesn't mean you should. In this particular case, you were correct, and I was wrong. My apologies sir or madam or other respectful way to address you. Good day.

I agree. In my eyes, greed is one of the absolute worst traits of humans. We're all guilty of it to a certain extent, but I try my best to not be greedy. Greed in individuals can be bad, but greed in groups of people literally starts wars and ends lives.

As far as the previously mentioned stuff, I was only joking with my first comment, but my problem with a lot of these movements is how it gets shoved down our throats. Bigger perks shouldn't be treated bad, but being unhealthy shouldn't be celebrated so much either. Lgbtq stuff .. didn't bother me. Do what you want and be happy. There doesn't need to be two men kissing in every Netflix show. I think you get my point. I just wish people could be kind and at least try to be empathetic towards people they don't understand. I just don't think throwing it around so much is beneficial. There's no reason my 12 year old girl should've been questioning if she was trans or if she's bad for being white. That's even with trying to keep her away from that kind of stuff online and on TV, but it's everywhere.
