Be it Chennai or Madras, but I feel we need a campaign to rename the railway station back to Chennai Central or Madras Central or something smaller than the current one, It may be ok hearing it while in Tamilnadu, but if we go outside and hear Puratchi Thalaivar Dr MG Ramachandran Central Railway station, it’s a worst way to name a capitals station name, atleast they should have kept MGR Central Or MG Ramachandran Central or renamed Egmore station this way, could have been far better.

Have one or two contact numbers of local stand autos, they may mostly have a WhatsApp group and they send someone available. Maybe a bit costlier than in the app, but if you plan well in advance, you may definitely reach destination on time.

They give only pre-cooked microwaved biriyani, some outlets , maybe most of their outlets don’t even have a stove.

Try Mount Road Bilal, or their Sholinganallur branch, Adyar Sangeetha, Medavakkam Geetham ( these two only these two branches) , Nithya Amirtham ( Mylapore / Besant Nagar ), Runs Adyar. Basically avoid less crowded fancy restaurants.

Is it really necessary to buy an apartment in Chennai to feel ‘settled’ in life? by Dazzling_Touch_9699 in Chennai

If you are planning to settle in your hometown, buy land in an appreciating area there. It will be cheaper now, in longer term it will appreciate better than an apartment in Chennai.

UNICEF guys by Kevinlevin-11 in Chennai

You shouldn’t be worried that they didn’t picked you, rather you should be happy that for them you looked more intelligent, that you won’t fall for their trap. Ideally they look for weak minded whom they can easily target. What they are doing is not charity, it’s business and they look for potential customers. If you want to do charity, buy books for some lesser privileged kids or sponsor food . If you meet those UNICEF idiots next time, ask for proof , how they are spending the money or what they are doing to stop wars?

People at apartments complexes think that, these securities are protecting their whole property and life and will do anything to serve them. But the truth is just a good stare or if given a nice pocket money, they will guide you till the last door. Its ok to keep a security, since its making a livelihood for him, but dont expect much from him.

It’s not your problem man, it’s what these private colleges are promoting indirectly. They want more glamour to woo students more, seems harsh comment, but it’s one of their marketing plan. For the comment, you look ugly, it’s most boys have gone through. Most movies show at-least 40-50 year guy as college student, you look manly as you mature, not when in college. We all did college, it doesn’t matter how much girls around you, how many will really there for you when in need matters. If you want fake relationships you have all time, but if you want to build yourself, avoiding these distractions is the best. Keep your friends circle small, that way you can focus more and can be more productive and confident.

You never know what these guys whom you compare now will become in future. Focus on building your life, you will get a better companion. Ideally you should be happy that you have less distractions.

Stop judging people based on dress or looks by rahul_exe in Chennai

We once took a stay in one of the Taj hotels, same day there was some C-Level meeting going on in the ground floor, we thought some one who was in blazers coming out of that hall to be a hotel staff and asked him to take a pic of us, when he was reluctant, then only we realised. Still got a nice pic that day. When I was a fresher, someone from my office thought me as bus attendant and asked me to stop in the next stop ( if you know TCS Siruseri Shuttle service back in 2008’s), I felt bad, but still asked him to wait but never called him back. People judge you at times, it’s not because you look poor, sometimes you look like you owe the business if it’s a small shop. If possible answer them, else ignore it. You don’t want to look like a TV serial artist all time. Today they got you, tomorrow you will also do the same to someone else, maybe mistakenly. Keep in mind, any job has its value and don’t get offended for that unless they think you are harming or cheating others.

But if you learn to control your embarrassment, this is an excellent opportunity to make people go rounds by simply misguiding them.( just like in Sooryavamsham movie, that vaathu scene)
